February is American Heart Month and we’re shining a light on the importance of heart health for children and the care that helps keep those hearts beating strong at Mott Children’s Health Center.

Small daily habits can make a big difference for heart health:

💧 Drink one more glass of water
😴 Get one extra hour of sleep
🥗 Swap out processed foods when you can
🧘 Take a 5-minute stress break

Doctor Spotlight: Dr. Leena Jindal, DO, ABP, AOBP 🌟

Dr. Leena Jindal is a board-certified pediatrician with over 25 years of experience providing comprehensive care for children from newborn through 18 years of age. She has served as the Medical Director of the Primary Care Clinic at MCHC since joining the organization in 2018.

Dr. Jindal earned her medical degree from Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences and completed her pediatric residency at Michigan State University. Her clinical interests include adolescent care, obesity, asthma, mental health, and medical education.

She describes MCHC as a hidden gem in the community and believes deeply in its mission to serve underserved families through comprehensive services, including pediatric specialty care, dental care, mental health, nutrition, outreach, and a soon-to-open eye clinic. MCHC’s recognition as a Top 50 Non-Profit Organization for five consecutive years reflects the dedication of its staff.

Dr. Jindal considers pediatrics her calling and finds joy in caring for children. She looks forward to continuing her work at MCHC!
