Today we were proud to present Jolene Stepanski from The Medical Team Hospice as our Heart of Caring Award recipient for the month. A'Marie Dotson shared these words about Jolene's heart of caring:

"Jolene's beautiful hospice heart SHINES in every aspect of her care. From bringing a patient's favorite treats to her visits to making PB&J sandwiches during a patient's visit for their sick spouse, Jolene truly goes above and beyond for those she cares for...and her glowing family reviews reflect it! As a board-certified music therapist, Jolene is also one of the few nurses who not only appreciates what music therapy does for our patients, but advocates wholeheartedly for my services; her own love of music helps convince even the most skeptical patients to become willing to give music therapy services a try. It is a joy to serve our patients alongside such a fantastic nurse and an even better person!"

THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING US AND THE BEAUTIFUL WORDS!!

One year as a Hospice Nurse and I have never been so sure about Gods calling for me as I am after doing this for a year. I love my job, my pts and the entire staff I work for and with.
My one Year Anniversary working with The Medical Team was on 2/3/26. I chose this particular company because they were one of the highest recommended by Hurley staff and then the bonus of my nursing school friend Sara rolling that ball for me ❤️. Since that time I have not only been employed by this company but have had 2 members of my family utilize our company services.
My dad had an emergency amputation back in Sept and hired The Medical Team Home health to assist with wound care and recovery. Then my stepdad began to lose his battle against cancer and signed on in November with Hospice. This month my Father in law lived outside of our area and we had to use a different company and let me tell you what sets us apart.
1. Every single member of our staff lead with compassion and kindness and follow up with hands on care and education.
2. Dr. Nikolakeas is one of a kind. She is always available, continuing education for herself and then providing for us and it shows in the comfort of our patients and the mindset of families performing these tasks at home.
3. Our management allows us to go beyond vitals and medicine with our care. Often our team is assisting with laundry, painting nails, providing donuts, coffee, hairdo, whatever our pts need to offer them the best End of Life.
4. We follow up! On everything! You need visits everyday…totally fine. Your loved one passed, expect a beautiful chime and a call from our Bereavement coordinator Alyssa who is the finest. Did you have a child lose a parent or family member and they are struggling to cope, we have a camp every summer.
5. And honestly this should be #1, we pray. We pray to open our meetings, we pray with our families and each other, and if praying isn’t your thing then we pray for you.
