We are excited to see that the Alabama Nursing Home Association has recognized our very own Nicholas Adams during their celebration of "Careers in Aging Month" here in March. Nicholas is one of our dedicated support staff members here at Florala H&R, making sure our residents live in a healthy & clean environment.

🤝 As our Careers in Aging Month series continues, we’re proud to spotlight Nicholas Adams, a housekeeping team member at Florala Health and Rehabilitation, LLC with nearly 20 years of service.

From keeping residents’ spaces clean and comfortable to building meaningful relationships each day, Nicholas makes a difference in ways both big and small.

“I clean their rooms like I would for my own family,” he shared.

Recently, we enjoyed hosting an appreciation lunch to thank them for the incredible support and compassion they provide each day to their patients and families. Their dedication and helping hands truly make a difference in the lives of so many. We are grateful for the partnership and the care they bring to our community! 👏💙

🎉 This week we celebrate National Long Term Care Administrator’s Week, and today we are proud to recognize our very own Nursing Home Administrator, Crystal Braswell.

With over 20 years of experience within the NHS family, Crystal’s journey includes 17 years at Florala Health and Rehabilitation, where she has served in several important roles including MDS Coordinator, Director of Nursing, and now Nursing Home Administrator. She also spent three years as a Regional Nurse Consultant within the company.

Crystal’s dedication to her residents and passion for her work truly shine every day. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and loves riding horses. 🐎 We are incredibly grateful for Crystal’s hard work, loyalty, and commitment to our residents, staff, families, and community partners.

♥️🤎🖤💛💚FHR culminated Black History Month with a special presentation from our Admissions Coordinator, Christina, and her husband, Marcell as they presented an original skit on The Songs of the Underground Railroad. Written by her grandfather, Lawrence Hughes Jr, Marcell educated us and described the meaning and use of spirituals that led the path to freedom. As he provided the story telling, the songbird, Christina, sang the songs 🎶☺️

Ms. Sarah warmed our hearts today with stories about her cherished tea sets and the importance of passing them down through family generations ☕💖
She proudly showed us her beautiful bird figurine collection 🐦 and then gave us a special invitation to explore her bookshelf filled with inspiring books 📚✨

She told us we’re welcome to borrow a book, read it, return it, and grab another. We told her she’s basically our in-house librarian 🤓💙 She laughed and said she’d love that and truly hopes everyone takes time to read.
We are so grateful for residents like Ms. Sarah who share their passions, their memories, and their hearts with us. That’s what makes this place feel like family 🥰
