Welcome to Smith Funeral Home of Florence, a family-owned Funeral Home steeped in history and tradition. Our roots can be traced to October 1950. That’s when J.O. Smith began his business in Florence, South Carolina.
Our facility grew over time, and in 1964 it was completely renovated. It was remodeled again in 1975 using a stucco approach with a touch of Italian and Spanish Structure. Today it stands as a memorial for the many families we have been honored to serve.
The Smith Funeral Home establishment was the first to have limousines for their families that they served in the area along with the spacious chapel of convenience to the family.
Today, we are led by 2nd-generation President and Funeral Director Felicia Smith-Charles, and Vice President and 3rd-generation family member James “Chipper” Smith.
The Smiths are members of the National Morticians Association, SC Morticians Association, Sixth District Morticians Association (where Mr. J. O Smith was one of four of the founders) National Funeral Directors Association and SC Funeral Directors Association.
The Smith Funeral Home of Florence remains family owned and operated.
