HopeHealth is a community health center providing affordable, expert primary and specialty health care services in Florence, Aiken (Infectious Diseases), Clarendon, Orangeburg, and Williamsburg Counties. HopeHealth provides integrated health services for more than 50,000 patients in areas surrounding Aiken, Clarendon, Florence, Orangeburg, and Williamsburg counties. It was founded in 1991 as a grassroots HIV/AIDS support organization, and was designated as a Federally Qualified Community Health Center in 2007 to expand its services to include primary and pediatric care. As an organization, HopeHealth now has over 100 providers covering including, dental care, chiropractic care, behavior health and psychiatry, endocrinology, rheumatology, pain management, substance abuse, women’s health, and more.

HopeHealth staff were invited to the South Carolina State House to join lung cancer survivors, care partners, medical professionals, organizations, advocates, and elected officials in raising awareness about lung cancer.

This event was organized by J.J. Gentry, Counsel to the South Carolina Senate, who is a lung cancer survivor himself.

During this event, Governor Henry McMaster proclaimed November as ‘Lung Cancer Awareness Month’ in South Carolina. Do you represent one in seven adults in South Carolina living with diabetes? Join The Diabetes Institute at HopeHealth and Community Health Workers for a Diabetes Awareness Walk on Saturday, November 15.

This event will be held at the Streater Community Center (301 N. Dargan Street, Florence) located on the campus of the HopeHealth Medical Plaza. Registration starts at 8:30am, and the walk begins at 9am. Health screenings, giveaways, and snacks will also be available. This free event is sponsored by the Blue Cross Blue Shield Diabetes Free grant.
