There for the Moments That Matter Most 👰🤵

Care doesn’t always mean long-term support, sometimes it means being there for just one important day.

Recently, we had the privilege of helping a client attend his grandson’s wedding. His family needed support for the day so he could travel safely, feel comfortable, and fully enjoy a moment that meant the world to them. Our caregiver stepped in so the focus could stay where it belonged: celebrating family and togetherness.

Assisting Hands is here whether you need care for one day, one week, or longer. Sometimes, the most meaningful moments only last a day, but they last a lifetime in memory. We’re honored to help families say yes to moments that matter.

Engaging seniors in a mix of mental activities can help maintain cognitive health. Alternating between reading, music, puzzles, or strategy games stimulates different areas of the brain. It is an easy way to support mental sharpness each day.

There’s nothing like enjoying a snowy day with great company. Caregiver Tilly and her client Sally made the most of the winter weather by spending their day enjoying each others company surrounded by Christmas decorations. Moments like these remind us that care is about connection as much as support 🤍

❄️December Caregiver of the Month: Whitney❄️

Meet Whitney, one of our amazing caregivers who has been in caregiving for about 10 years. She first stepped into this role when her mom and grandmother were sick.

Whitney’s favorite part of caregiving is getting to know her clients on a deeper level. She loves hearing about what they used to do, how things were “back in the day,” and the jobs and adventures they’ve had. She recently cared for a sweet client who had traveled the world (Washington, D.C., New York City, even England) and those stories really stuck with her.

Whitney comes from an Assisting Hands family, her aunt brought her to work here. Whitney says she appreciates that we truly do more for employees and show appreciation for both caregivers and clients.

Outside of work, she enjoys bowling, shopping, staying up to date on trends, and proudly calls herself a “shoe head.” She’s also a devoted mom to her 12-year-old son. 💙

We’re so thankful for Whitney’s heart, dedication, and the joy she brings to her clients every day.
