🌟Kaleigh is February's Caregiver of the Month🌟

Join us in celebrating our amazing Caregiver of the Month! Kaleigh joined Assisting Hands because she was looking for a career where she truly feels she can help people in meaningful ways. We're so glad she found her home here.

She loves the heart behind what we do, the supportive management, and our responsive HR team. When she’s not providing outstanding care, you can find her reading, painting, crocheting, or diving into other creative projects. She’s also an STNA, bringing skill and compassion to every shift.

Thank you for all you do, we’re so lucky to have you on our team! 👏💐

New series! Care Tip Tuesday

Learn a new tip every week to care for your aging loved one or patient. Every tip comes straight from our care management team, sharing the best advice they've learned from decades of experience.

This week's care tip is for those who struggle with making sure their loved one eats enough.

"If your loved one has a hard time sitting through a full meal, try offering smaller meals with snacks in between. Finger foods can be especially helpful for those who find it difficult to stay seated for long."

Simple daily tasks take more energy for dementia patients to accomplish. That means making sure they get enough calories every day is especially important.

A little planning today can make care decisions easier tomorrow.

Exploring what professional home support can provide — from daily tasks to personalized care plans — helps families better anticipate future needs. Knowing how services can flex as needs evolve brings confidence and peace of mind, and lets loved ones stay safe and engaged in the place they call home. Support doesn’t have to start in a moment of crisis. Learn more about what home care provides and planning options: https://assistinghandsnky.com/24-hour-care

Support can start with a conversation, not a turning point.
Many families begin exploring care options simply because they want to be prepared, not because something has gone wrong.

A care consultation offers space to ask questions, understand available support, and create a thoughtful plan. Having guidance early can ease uncertainty and help families feel more in control.

Care planning works best when it starts before a crisis.

Independence often looks different as we grow older.
Aging doesn’t mean giving up control over daily life. For many seniors, remaining at home helps preserve routines, comfort, and a sense of autonomy.

With thoughtful in-home support, independence can be maintained while ensuring safety and peace of mind.

Happy 100th birthday Connie! 🎂

Born in 1926 (the same year as Marilyn Monroe) Connie has lived through major events from the Great Depression to the invention of the internet.

When asked her secret to longevity she said simply "I don't know. I just kept going and going."

Congratulations on reaching this major milestone!
