Today is Cerebral Palsy awareness day!
We treat so many kiddos with CP and with good care and carryover at home these kiddos have such success. We have some of the sassiest and most determined kiddos ever. We love watching them grow and helping their quality of life improve in ways you wouldn’t think possible. 💚

Today is Down Syndrome awareness day!

Here are some facts….
Down Syndrome is a genetic condition due to an extra copy of chromosome 21. It can lead to developmental delays and distinct physical features.
There are 3 types: trisomy 21, translocation, and mosacism.
1 in 640 babies in the US are born with Down Syndrome making it the most common chromosomal condition.

Something I have learned over the past 10 or more years is that these babies are some of the most stubborn yet loving children. Due to this, they make leaps and bounds when working with therapy. We love working with all your babies and thank all our parents for trusting us in their babies care 💙💛

Today is Torticollis and Plagiocephaly awareness day

What is Torticollis?
-tightness of the Sternocleidomastoid muscle due to intrauterine position, position preference after birth, reflux, overall body tension, too much container usage, etc.
What is Plagiocephaly?
-flattening on the head due to prolonged positions due to preferences

These do not always occur together but they are very commonly found together.

When to seek treatment?
-AS SOON AS YOU NOTICE THE ISSUE
We tell patients all the time we love to see this referral come through at 0-3 months because we can treat it with less treatment sessions and hopefully avoid needing a helmet for head shape.
