The History behind Lifetime Hearing

Lifetime Hearing Services is the premier hearing healthcare center of the P*e Dee Region in SC. Dr. Kirby opened up her private practice after having worked 10 years as the Director of Audiology for a private practice ENT group with 4 physicians. She began by herself in a two room office she rented- one room was an old kitchen area where she counselled patients and the other room was the testing suite where the soundbooth was. Soon after, next door an empty lot was placed up for sale. She remembers looking out of her office kitchen window stating, “I would love that location to be my new private practice...”

Within 6 months. she purchased the lot at 522 W. Palmetto St., and began making payments only on the lot while building her private practice. Building plans were drawn up, and 2 years later, the current Lifetime Hearing Services, known for its beautiful landscaping in our community was built. Her staff began to grow as well- Dr. Kirby prides herself on having red carpet patient experiences. She even incorporated a 10 minute appointment guarantee for her patients; If her patients are not seen within 10 minutes of their appointment, their appointment is complimentary!

Lifetime Hearing has now grown to 4 locations: full-time locations in Florence and Hartsville, our newest location opened this past year in Cheraw and is open on Mondays and Tuesdays, and we have a service center location for professional hearing aid cleanings and repairs in Lake City. Lifetime Hearing employs 7 incredible individuals to serve the P*e Dee with their hearing healthcare, consisting of another Doctor of Audiology, 2 licensed Audiology Assistants, 2 patient care coordinators and a Practice Administrator.

Additional services now include Cochlear Implant Evaluations and Activations (the only facility in the P*e Dee to work with Cochler Implants), and BAHA evaluations and activations (for single sided deafness).
