Today at Active Day, history met paint in the most beautiful way 🎨✨

In honor of Black History Month, our members had the opportunity to let creativity and culture collide as they painted phenomenal canvases of Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks. Each brushstroke told a story of courage, strength, resilience, and hope.

On this Crafty Tuesday, we didn’t just paint portraits we proudly remembered two trailblazers who changed the course of history. Their legacy continues to inspire generations to stand boldly, love deeply, and lead with purpose. ❤️

Black History Month is a time to reflect, celebrate excellence, honor sacrifices, and uplift the powerful contributions of African Americans past and present. We are grateful for moments like these where learning, creativity, and remembrance come together in such a meaningful way.

We proudly remember them both today and always. 🖤💛💚❤️

The day we’ve all been awaiting… our Valentine’s Extravaganza ❤️🎉 and of course it was a SUCCESS! 💕

What a beautiful day filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories. 💞 We enjoyed lots of music 🎶, delicious food 🍽️, fun games 🎲, a sweet gift exchange 🎁, and of course the dance party 💃🏽🕺🏽 always our members’ favorite!

A very special thank you to our amazing Active Day Florence management team for the lovely and tasty brunch 🥞🍓 and the appreciation sweet treat bags 🍬🍫. We are extremely grateful for all you do! 💐

Not many pictures were captured today, but we were so grateful to S & S Messy Crazy Potatoes and their amazing crew for bringing the food truck to Active Day today! 🙌🏽🚚

Our members truly enjoyed experiencing the tasty, delicious loaded potatoes and nachos every bite was a hit! 😋🥔🧀

Yeehaw! 🤠🐎 Rodeo Day with the Active Day crew was one for the books!

To say we had a blast would be an understatement! Our members and staff truly enjoyed every moment from the exciting rodeo show to the delicious lunch bags with tasty hot dogs 🌭😋. The entertainment was nonstop from beginning to end, filled with smiles, laughter, and great memories.

As always, we’re already looking forward to coming back next year! 💙✨

Good morning Active Day Florence family!
We are happy to share that we will resume normal operating hours tomorrow, Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the center. As of now, we will be back to regular programming; however, if anything changes, we will be sure to update everyone in a timely manner.

Our Story

We provide outpatient, therapeutic, adult day health services to individuals 18 years of age and older with cognitive and/or physical impairments. Our staff have been specially-trained to give care to those with Alzheimer's Disease and/or other related Dementias. They received their training through the Dementia Dialogues program, Office for the Study of Aging-Arnold School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina. The staff also remains updated on their CPR and First Aid certifications. We care for members with a wide-variety of diagnoses, such as Diabetes, Hypertension, Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, etc. Our nursing staff administer medications, injections, respiratory treatments, give wound care and tube feedings, monitor vital signs/ blood sugars, and any skilled nursing service the primary physician orders. We have nutritious meals and snacks prepared according to the member's physician's dietary orders. The menus are designed by a registered dietician. The staff assist with all meal set up and feeding, as needed. We have contracted transportation to deliver the members to and from their homes daily. The drivers provide door-to-door transportation. They will assist the members with their transfers and ambulation. We also have a wide-variety of wonderful activities daily. These activities include low-impact exercise, current events discussion, arts/crafts, games, Karaoke, Wii Sports Video Games, Inter-generational events, theme weeks, and much more. We have many exceptionally-talented volunteers that perform weekly, whether it be singing or playing instruments. Contact us for further information about our services and enrollment criteria.
