Israel is easing access to abortion in response to the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. The country’s Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz called the Roe reversal ‘sad’ and said that America is turning the clock for women’s rights ‘a hundred years back.’

The country’s new abortion policy, which the parliamentary committee approved on June 27, grants access to abortion pills through Israel's universal health system. Those seeking an abortion are no longer required to appear physically before a special committee to be allowed to terminate their pregnancy.
