🌿We will be continuing to share information the remainder of this week on the healing benefits of nature.
🪴Did you know that time in nature can improve your mental health and cognition? For example, when green spaces are near schools cognitive development improves & green views near homes promote self-control behaviors.
🌿Research suggests that just a few moments of green perk up our attention!
🪴Even the sounds of nature are recuperative. Listening to nature sounds such as crickets chirping and waves crashing elicited better performance on demanding cognitive tests than those who listened to urban sounds like traffic or the sounds in a busy cafe.
🌿Finally, both green spaces and blue spaces (aquatic environments) produce benefits to your wellbeing! Research further suggests that blue spaces may be slightly more restorative than green spaces. So, when you are taking in an ocean or lake view there’s a reason why you feel better!
