This month, we are proud to recognize two amazing individuals who make our Florence Park family so special!

💜 Resident Spotlight: Michelle Johnson
Michelle grew up in Newport, Kentucky, and graduated from Newport High School. She comes from a loving family with four sisters and one brother who has passed. Michelle spent her career as a CNA, dedicating her life to caring for others. She is a proud mom to a son and a daughter. Michelle enjoys sewing, gardening, and most importantly, making everyone around her laugh. Her joyful spirit truly brightens our community!

💼 Employee Spotlight: Dominick Persley
Dominick has been a valued member of our team for 18 years! He chose healthcare because he loves helping people, and that passion shows every day. Known for joking with coworkers and keeping the mood light, Dominick brings positivity wherever he goes. He’s proud of his famous banana pudding and says his advice to new employees is: “Hit the clock and get your job done.” In his free time, he enjoys fishing, camping, reading, and grabbing a good burrito whenever he can!

Hi everyone! We’re currently looking for donations of yarn and crochet hooks to support activities for our nursing home residents. 💜

Crocheting is a wonderful way for our residents to stay engaged, creative, and relaxed—and many of the items they make are shared with others to spread kindness and comfort.

If you have any extra yarn (any color, any size) or crochet hooks you’re no longer using, we would truly appreciate your donation. Every little bit helps! 🧵

🌟 Florence Park Spotlight of the Month! 🌟

We are excited to celebrate two wonderful members of our Florence Park family this month — our Employee Spotlight, Lori Boston, and our Resident of the Month, Byron Whalen!

💙 Employee Spotlight: Lori Boston, LPN
Lori has been part of the Florence Park team for a little over a year and brings positivity and compassion to our residents every day. Her favorite part of being a nurse is chatting with residents and getting to know them. Lori enjoys playing video games and visiting thrift stores in her free time, and she says the funny and witty residents and staff make coming to work something she looks forward to. Lori is currently working hard toward her goal of purchasing a home. A fun fact about her is that she can fall asleep at the drop of a hat! Her advice for new employees is to take their time getting to know the residents. Lori loves the family-like atmosphere at Florence Park and says the staff here are some of the sweetest people you’ll meet.

⭐ Resident of the Month: Byron Whalen
Byron has lived at Florence Park for a little over a year and has become a wonderful part of our community. Born and raised in Covington, Kentucky, he graduated from Holmes High School and later attended NKU. Byron is the fourth oldest of six siblings and enjoys spending his time drawing and sketching, playing chess and Scrabble, and reading superhero comics from DC and Marvel. Known for being a jokester, Byron loves comedy and often brings laughter and smiles to those around him.

Please join us in congratulating Lori and Byron for making Florence Park such a special place! 👏
