A Message for our families:

We’ve recently seen an increase in patients who were first treated at Urgent Care and, unfortunately, received care that wasn’t always appropriate for children. This has included incorrect diagnoses, misuse of antibiotics, and improper dosing.

Pediatric care is specialized, and children often need a different approach than adults. Whenever possible, we ask that you contact Primary Pediatrics before visiting an Urgent Care so we can help guide you to the best next step for your child.

If your child does need to be seen at an Urgent Care, we strongly recommend following up with us in our office within 1–2 days to ensure they are healing well and receiving the correct treatment.

As always, our goal is to provide the safest, most effective care for your child. Please don’t hesitate to call us—we’re here to help.

At Primary Pediatrics, our vaccine recommendations are grounded in evidence-based pediatric expertise and long-established best practices.

In light of a recent update from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the American Academy of Pediatrics has reaffirmed that it will continue to follow its own trusted immunization guidance developed specifically for children and adolescents.
Our practice will continue to rely on AAP recommendations when counseling families about vaccines.

We value open, respectful dialogue and remain committed to caring for every child and family. If you have questions or would like to discuss how this may affect your child, we welcome those conversations at your next visit.

Your child’s health and well-being remain our highest priority.

Here's what to know about the recommended immunization schedule for children and teens. The schedule is approved by the American Academy of Pediatrics and based on ongoing review of the most recent scientific data for each of the recommended vaccines and other immunizations.
