Honoring Our Heroes: Veterans Day at CMMC

Today, Connally Memorial Medical Center proudly honored our staff members who are veterans, along with all who have served our great nation. We are deeply grateful for your courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication to protecting our freedoms.

As part of our observance, we held a Veterans Day Prayer Service and Blessing of the Veterans, led by our CMMC Chaplain, Jennifer "Birdie" Shawker, and Chaplain Al Riley. It was a heartfelt tribute to those who have served and a powerful reminder of how their dedication continues to strengthen and unite our community.

To our veterans, past and present, thank you for your service, your bravery, and your sacrifice. You are true heroes, and today we honor you. ❤️🤍💙

Q: What inspired you to pursue a career in healthcare?
A: I’ve always had the desire to help others. I enjoyed taking care of my grandparents, which led me into the medical field.

Q: What are some of your proudest accomplishments in your career so far?
A: I am most proud of being part of an awesome Ear, Nose, & Throat team that helps our patients hear, breathe, and sleep better.

Q: How do you stay motivated, or what keeps you passionate about what you do?
A: Hearing the patients walk out so happy with our patient care services.

Q: What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of work?
A: Spending time with my family, going to Six Flags, Sea World, and going on road trips. 🎢🌊🚗
