Ralph Parker, MD Ralph Parker, M.D. is a general surgeon in private practice for over 28 years. I realize that being referred to a surgeon can create anxiety in anyone.

My philosophy is to provide excellent care to my patients in a comfortable and soothing environment. That's why my office was designed to feel more like a home that a cold, sterile-looking "traditional" office. All my patients see me personally for all of their visits and consultations—both before surgery and after. I do not use physician extenders (medical assistants, nurse practitioners, etc.) since I prefer to see my patients myself. That's what you are paying for. Lastly, I take pride in spending as much time as needed to answer all my patients' questions to make sure they have a full understanding of their condition and their options. And as my previous patients and referring physicians will testify, I'll be the first person to tell you when you DON'T need surgery.

The office is closed this week due to this ridiculous weather. Telemedicine has not been an option because of the power outages and no Internet service. Now the phone lines are down (Frontier Communications.)

With the restrictions imposed by the Coronavirus on patient interactions, we are offering telemedicine "virtual visits" with HIPAA-compliant videoconferencing technology.

A few months ago I was made aware that I had completed over 500 procedures on the DaVinci surgical robot platform. I am grateful to my team at Presbyterian Hospital of Flower Mound for making it enjoyable!
