Endometriosis Awareness Month
Part 2
Hello everyone, this is Dr. Baten with Urogynecology Associates, and for Endometriosis Awareness Month, we’re continuing the conversation about endometriosis and how it can affect women’s health.
One important thing to understand is that endometriosis can sometimes lead to infertility or what we call subfertility, meaning it may make it more difficult for a woman to become pregnant.
This condition occurs when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside of the uterus. Over time, it can cause inflammation, scarring, and pelvic pain, and in some cases it can affect the reproductive organs.
Some common symptoms women may experience include:
• chronic pelvic pain
• painful menstrual cycles
• pain during in*******se
• digestive issues around the menstrual cycle
• or difficulty becoming pregnant
If you’re experiencing symptoms like these, or if you think you may have endometriosis, it’s important to speak with a specialist.
At Urogynecology Associates, my team and I specialize in treating pelvic pain conditions, including endometriosis, and we’re here to help guide you through evaluation and treatment options.
