Endometriosis Awareness Month
Part 2

Hello everyone, this is Dr. Baten with Urogynecology Associates, and for Endometriosis Awareness Month, we’re continuing the conversation about endometriosis and how it can affect women’s health.

One important thing to understand is that endometriosis can sometimes lead to infertility or what we call subfertility, meaning it may make it more difficult for a woman to become pregnant.

This condition occurs when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside of the uterus. Over time, it can cause inflammation, scarring, and pelvic pain, and in some cases it can affect the reproductive organs.

Some common symptoms women may experience include:

• chronic pelvic pain
• painful menstrual cycles
• pain during in*******se
• digestive issues around the menstrual cycle
• or difficulty becoming pregnant

If you’re experiencing symptoms like these, or if you think you may have endometriosis, it’s important to speak with a specialist.

At Urogynecology Associates, my team and I specialize in treating pelvic pain conditions, including endometriosis, and we’re here to help guide you through evaluation and treatment options.

If you have questions or would like to schedule an appointment, please give our office a call at 601-822-2294.
We’re here to help you find answers and relief.

Many people have heard the word, but not everyone understands what it means.

Endometriosis occurs when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside of the uterus. This can lead to symptoms like severe menstrual pain, pelvic pain, painful periods, heavy bleeding, and in some cases fertility challenges.

Because symptoms can vary from person to person, many women live with endometriosis for years before receiving a diagnosis.

In this video, Dr. Baten with Urogynecology Associates shares important insights about what endometriosis is and how it can present.

If you think you may have endometriosis—or know someone who may be experiencing these symptoms—give us a call. Our team is here to help.

What is AltaViva?

AltaViva is a small, minimally invasive device used to help treat bladder control issues by gently stimulating the posterior tibial nerve, a nerve connected to the bladder and pelvic floor. By sending mild signals through this nerve pathway, the treatment helps improve communication between the bladder and the brain, which can reduce symptoms like urgency, frequency, and leakage.

The device itself is very small—about the size of a stick of Trident gum—and is designed to provide ongoing support without major surgery.

If you’ve been dealing with bladder control issues or pelvic floor concerns, this could be a new option worth discussing.

📞 Call our office today and learn whether AltaViva may be right for you.

It’s not “just” a bladder issue. It’s not “just” a bowel issue.

Your bladder and bowel share the same nerve communication with your brain. When that pathway isn’t working properly, urinary and f***l incontinence can occur.

InterStim therapy helps restore that communication, giving your body the support it needs to function the way it should.

Better control is possible, and we’re here to help you get there. 💜
