We are thrilled to celebrate our October Nurse of the Month, Monica Smith, RN! 🌟👏

Monica graduated in December 2024 from Holmes Community College, where she excelled academically and as a leader. She was top of her class, received the prestigious Dean’s and Director’s Award, AND proudly served as Class President. What an incredible achievement! 🎓👩🏽‍🎓

Monica is deeply committed to providing her patients with the best one-on-one care right in the comfort of their homes. Her heart for nursing shines through in every shift she works.

Outside of nursing, Monica is all about family and cheering on her son as he plays college football 🏈❤️

And when it’s time to relax and enjoy a great meal, one of her go-to favorites is Zea’s Rotisserie and Bar!

✨ September Nurse of the Month – Sarah Rickert, RN ✨

We are excited to share with this one with you!👏😁

Sarah’s medical career began with the Army National Guard, where she first discovered her calling to serve others. She later dedicated an incredible 28 years as a Jail Nurse, retiring just last October. What a testament to her commitment, resilience, and heart for people. Wow!

Together with her husband, Sarah serves in recovery ministry, reaching out to those they’ve met through law enforcement and corrections and walking alongside them with compassion and hope.

When reflecting on her time with Knit Together, Sarah shares:
“Never in a million years did I think I would end up taking care of special needs children. But God blessed me when He sent me two Sadies who changed everything for me. I don’t have to do this; I get to do this. It’s an honor and a privilege. Knit Together is a group of the best of the best. I’m so thankful to be a small part of this team.”

Beyond her career and ministry, Sarah treasures her family most of all, which include 4 grown children and 2 granddaughters. She especially loves going on family vacations with them all together!✈️

✨ August Nurse of the Month –
Shikeeta Barry, RN ✨

We are so excited to celebrate our August Nurse of the month! 👏👩🏽‍⚕️

Shikeeta is passionate about both nursing and lifelong learning. She recently graduated in Summer 2025 from The University of North Alabama with her MSN in Education, and she isn’t stopping there! She’s already enrolled at South College to pursue her Post-Master’s Family Nurse Practitioner degree.📜

Outside of nursing, Shikeeta has a true love for traveling the world. 🌍She is part of a travel group that takes at least one international trip every year, allowing her to explore new cultures, broaden her perspective, and create memories that last a lifetime.✈️

But above all, her proudest achievement is her three children, who inspire her every day:
👮 One working in law enforcement
❤️ One a dedicated caregiver
🦷 Her youngest, pursuing a career in dental school

She says they are truly her pride and joy, and we can easily see why!
