🌟 Meet our wonderful Co-Owner Ashley McCallister, M.S., CCC-SLP🌟

👋 Hey there, Bloom Therapy community! My name is Ashley McCallister. I was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. I received my Bachelors of Science in Health Science from Bradley University. I later moved to Mississippi to attend Jackson State University where I obtained my Masters of Science in Communicative Disorders.

While at Jackson State, I became a Project Access Grant Scholar where I was trained to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate assessments and intervention to children with language and literacy disabilities in public schools. I have also acted as group leader, counselor, and communication partner at an augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) summer camp.

I hold a certificate of clinical competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), a Mississippi state SLP license, as well as a 215 Educator's License from the Mississippi Department Education.

I have been exposed to a diverse range of experiences in my young career. My post-graduate experiences have included early intervention, preschool and elementary school settings as well as outpatient where I provided services to both children and adults. I have experience working with clients with Down Syndrome, fluency disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, swallowing disorders, and developmental delays. I currently serve as a clinical supervisor for Jackson State's graduate speech therapy program.

In my spare time I enjoy traveling, bowling, going to the movie theater, and spending time with my family and friends.

I am beyond excited to begin this journey with my good friend and colleague! I look forward to being a part of your child’s commication journey 🎉💙🗣️

🌟 Meet Our Extraordinary Co-Owner Melissa Monaghan, M.A., CCC-SLP🌟

👋 Hey there, Bloom Therapy community! My name is Melissa Monaghan. I’m currently completing my 12th year as a speech language pathologist. I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Mississippi in 2009 and a Masters of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Louisiana State University in 2011. I hold a certificate of clinical competence (CCC) from the American Speech and Hearing Association and was presented the Award for Continuing Education (ACE) in 2021 for completing at least 70 professional education hours in a period of 3 years.

After graduation, I participated in travel speech therapy services in Texas, California, Louisiana, and Hawaii. I have worked in various therapy settings including schools, private practice, and skilled nursing facilities. I have also served as a clinical supervisor for the graduate program for Speech Language Pathology at Jackson State University.

I have extensive experience in evaluation and treatment of the pediatric population with a variety of disorders, including Autism, apraxia, developmental disorders, neurological disorders, feeding & swallowing disorders, and fluency disorders. For the past 6 years, I have worked for Rankin County School District providing speech therapy services for ages 3-18. I have experience with a variety of Alternative and Augmentative Communication Devices and programs including LAMP Words for Life, Proloquo2go, and PECs.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my two-year old daughter, Lily, and dog, Paisley. I also enjoy watching LSU and Saints football, traveling, and spending time with my family in New Orleans.

I can’t wait to meet you all and embark on this amazing journey together 🎉
