Whether you loved Charlie Kirk or hated him, you will stand before God one day and give an account for YOUR life.
Today many of us carry an unspeakable grief in our hearts.
Our brother, Charlie Kirk — cultural revolutionary, man of God, husband, father, friend — was taken from us yesterday in an act of was appears to be political violence. He was fatally shot while speaking at Utah Valley University.
In our church office, the weight was heavy yesterday. The loss feels personal to many of us.
As a younger man, I faced multiple attempts on my life for the Gospel’s sake. I am grateful the Lord preserved me and allowed me the joy of raising my two kids. I can’t imagine my wife and boys having to endure such a loss. But today, I honor Charlie as a modern-day martyr. May his family be surrounded with faith, love, and supernatural peace in this valley of sorrow.
Yet, even now, we cling to both hope and truth:
“Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” — Matthew 5:10–12
“Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.” — Revelation 2:10
Charlie lived with boldness; he spoke truth, with the accent of kindness, even when it cost. He endured. He ACTED on what he believed. And because of faith, we know this is not the end: Charlies’s message is being amplified now. And though he is absent from our present, he is present in our future.
I love you all. Let this bring light to your soul—lean into peace, prayer, and the promise of eternal reward. We will ALL give an account one day. I have no doubt Charlie is hearing,
“Well Done.”
