Working on making a fresh batch of healing salve today for our upcoming craft show in Davison on Saturday🌿 this is what I call Nature's Neosporin. let's chat a little about some of the main herbs in this salve.
🪻Echinacea – Antimicrobial, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory. Fun fact Echinacea is also know as purple corn flower lots of People grow this medicine in there flower gardens and don't even know the healing properties.
🌿Comfrey – Nicknamed bone-knit for its ability to heal broken bones so quickly. Stimulates tissue repair for fast healing. Used for sprains, swelling, and bruises, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic.
🌱Plantain – I bet you know this one and don't even have a clue. Dubbed “Indian Band-Aid” by the Cherokee. Good for bites, stings, cuts, and scrapes, poison ivy, and sunburn. Stimulates collagen growth for faster wound healing. Most people in michigan have this growing in there yard and consider it a w**d. It's the one that grows low to the ground and had tassels that grow out the center.
🌼Calendula – Anti-inflammatory, astringent (tightens loose tissues), antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal. Used for cuts, burns, diaper rash, bites, sprains, bruises, rashes, sunburns, abrasions, and slow-healing wounds. Again another one people grow in there gardens and don't even know it.
I love learning about plant medicine and re-introducing people to it. Look around your flower garden I bet you have some medicine growing in it right now, all we have to do is slow down and look. See you Saturday friends
