Here's a fun reminder of why ramp length is really important for safety and what can go wrong with a ramp that is too short. We've shared this video before but it's been quite a while.

ADA and building code guidelines recommend a minimum of a 1:12 ratio for ramp length. In other words, one foot of ramp for every inch of rise (distance from the ground to the door or porch).

Check out one of our most recent ramp rental projects. This project is a good example of when ramps work well in garages.

In this case, the door threshold was low enough to keep the length of the ramp fairly short, while still following ADA guidelines.

There is also still room to park the car inside to keep it out of the winter elements.
