I hope we've all survived this chilly weekend, and the start to a brand new week! Just wanted to say how grateful I am for my tiny cozy space, the efficiency is peak. And I love my home dyed hospital towel. ✨ (It's the little things ) 😁

I pride myself on the imense variety of my modality knowledge, however, it rarely pays to be a jack of all trades but a master of none. I have spent years working with injuries/ROM/cartilaginous defects/overall maintenance for people with physically streneous lives! Whether that be a blue collar job, a high performance athlete, or a really old lady with a hip replacement - getting the body to heal while also performing at its peak- this is my number one speciality!
Unfortunately I soon found that this particular niche WOULD NOT pay the bills!!! (It's ironically very hard to get athletes OR blue collar workers to give massage a chance!) Because of this and a few other issues I decided to shift my studies, and entire focus onto women and more particularly, what kind of natal care/benefits massage could offer in the VARIOUS stages of MAKING new LIFE!! I've taken several extra credits for prenatal massage, but I didn't stop there. Pregnancy is a big deal, so the techniques also must be!!! After I ran out of prenatal workshops to attend, I started my journey on manual post natal care, and FINALLY and in my opinion MOST importantly, I made sure to get myself educated and TRAINED quite thoroughly in natal massage for POSTPARTUM.

I just followed about ..8 different massage pages just like me/mine. Local people trying to make a living. I know it's easy to look at things in competition, especially with how the economy is now, any threats to our livelihood, even unproven ones, can send you into a frenzy! But what if we all just accept the fact that our work is going to be liked and disliked by different people. We should support each other more- give recommendations for things we can't do or don't do to someone's satisfaction, when we're too booked or busy, network in a way where WE have someone to call when we are in pain and need to take our own advice and tend to our bodies. Such simple things, tiny shifts in perspective, could truly change this industry in our area. Which, let's be honest, needs help to be fully recognized for what it is. Not always a luxury, not always out of your means, actual benefits that extend beyond a college thesis essay. Massage can be incredibly beneficial for our overall HEALTH. Let's stop overlooking our own power, stop overlooking our own resources.
