The countdown that everyone’s been waiting for is finally over — we knew something big was coming, and here it is… Genesis Brightwood Center is the WINNER of this year’s Trunk or Treat! 🏆🎃 #1👻

You all did an amazing job! Thank you to everyone who participated, decorated, and made this event so special. And a huge shout-out to everyone who took time out of their day to hop on Facebook and like our post — we hit 233 likes!

We started out in fifth place, but we kept climbing and climbing until we took the lead!

Brightwood Center’s Annual In-House Trick-or-Treat!

What a spooktacular evening at Brightwood Center! Our residents had an amazing time handing out candy and visiting with all the super cute and scary costumes, superheroes, disney characters and princesses who stopped by. 👻✨

A huge thank-you to our wonderful residents for spreading so much joy, to our dedicated staff for helping make the event such a success, and to our generous community members for donating candy — your kindness made the night extra sweet!

Our residents even got in on the fun by voting for the Best Costume, and we’re thrilled to announce that Mikayla Petrosky and Joan Harrison took home first place! 🎉

A special shout-out to Papa John’s Pizza for providing delicious pizza for all the kids — it was a big hit!

Events like these truly bring our community together, and we’re already looking forward to making next year’s Annual Trick-or-Treat at Brightwood Center even bigger and better!

To: All Staff, Families, and Community Members

It’s that wonderful time of year again — our annual Adopt-a-Resident program is underway at Brightwood Center!

We already have many individuals and groups expressing interest in adopting a resident, and we want to share this information early to give everyone ample time to prepare. Those who wish to participate are asked to have all gifts and items delivered to Brightwood Center by December 15th. This allows our team enough time to organize everything and ensure each resident receives their gifts in time for Christmas Eve delivery.

What an incredible evening at the Brooke County Area Chamber’s annual Trunk or Treat! Brightwood Center is always grateful to be part of this wonderful community tradition that brings families together for such a fun and festive night.

Our team went all out with this year’s Alice in Wonderland theme, complete with colorful decorations, creative costumes, and plenty of treats to share. We loved seeing all the smiling faces, the amazing costumes, and the excitement from every child (and adult!) who stopped by our trunk.

A huge thank you to the Brooke County Area Chamber for organizing another successful event — we’re already looking forward to next year!

Success Story Spotlight!

It’s a day worth celebrating — Diane Bayless has achieved an incredible milestone in her journey here at Brightwood Center! After one year and seven months of hard work and determination, Diane has made incredible progress here. She’s now ready to return to living independently and doing all the things she loves out in the community!

Let’s give Diane a big round of applause and a huge shout-out for her dedication and perseverance. We are so proud of you, Diane!

A special thank-you to the amazing CNAs, Nurses, and Therapy team for providing the best care and support along the way.

Way to Go, Curtis Lenkey! 🎉

Curtis came to Brightwood Center for short-term rehabilitation. From day one, he was motivated and fully engaged with our Therapy team, determined to regain his strength and independence.

After 29 days of hard work and dedication, Curtis reached his goal — walking out our doors and heading back home stronger than ever! 💪

We are so proud of his commitment and the incredible teamwork that helped make this success story possible. Congratulations, Curtis — your perseverance truly shines! 👏🎉🎊

Brightwood Center invites all community members, families, friends, residents, and staff to join us, Thursday October 16th, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM for our In-House Trick-or-Treat event at Brightwood Center, 840 Lee Road, Follansbee, WV 26037.

We’re excited to see everyone tomorrow for the fun and festive costumes as the kids make their way through the building collecting sweet treats. It’s going to be a spooktacular evening for all! 🎃🍭👻
