It’s a fact: All Urgent Cares are NOT created equal. At Rainbow Kids Urgent Care, we specialize in all things “kid”. We have a family friendly lobby, bright and colorful hallway, themed exam rooms, pediatric exam tables, pediatric dosage x-ray machine, books, toys, snacks and more! Our facility is specifically designed to create a warm and welcoming environment for families with kids. Our atmosphere immediately puts our young patients at ease and they feel they’re in a safe space, created just for them.

Most importantly, at RKUC, your child will ALWAYS be seen by a board certified pediatrician, who is specially trained in treating children. Because children are not little adults. We understand that their needs are different and require care specific to those needs. It’s why so many of our local pediatricians refer their patients to us, time and time again.

When we made the decision to start up Rainbow Kids Urgent Care, our hopes were to bring a much needed service for the many deserving families with young children in our community. Never did we imagine how many people would reach out to us to want to support what we’re doing by providing items that help us with patient care.

Janey is one of such people. She’s a local children’s book author that recently published a playful picture book called Wow Wow Lunch for toddlers and preschool-aged children. She generously sent us a copy to keep in our lobby for our young patients to enjoy while awaiting care.

Janey’s generosity extends beyond our waiting room. She also shared that the Kindle version of the book is currently available for free download on Amazon for a limited time. If anyone would like a digital copy, she welcomes you to download it.

Did you know that most of our board certified pediatricians have extensive training beyond general pediatrics??? 🧑🏻‍⚕️👩🏽‍⚕️🥼🩺

✨Dr. Pham and Dr. John both completed 3 years of pediatric critical care fellowships and work as pediatric intensivists in a local Pediatric ICU.

✨Dr. M. Yimer is a board certified pediatric cardiologist and is part of a notable cardiology practice. ❤️

✨Dr. Kathy Yimer also has training beyond her pediatric residency.

And most importantly, all of our pediatricians are also parents! This means our young patients are being cared for by highly qualified experts in the pediatric field. It’s no wonder why so many local pediatricians, physicians, nurses AND OTHER LOCAL URGENT CARES refer their patients to Rainbow Kids! 🌈🏥 It’s also why so many families continue to entrust us with caring for OUR kids.

Today is National Women Physicians Day, a day in which we honor the female doctors for their progress in the profession. The date, February 3rd, symbolizes the birthdate of Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell, the first woman to ever receive a medical degree in the United States in 1849.

We are honored to have two inspiring women physicians as a part of our RKUC team of dedicated pediatricians. Dr. Kathy and Dr. Maria: thank you for the impact you make in our community every day!

A big shout out to our medical student Chris, his sweet daughter Annabelle, and for generously donating these books for our patient exam rooms. These books will definitely be helpful while our young patients receive care. Our new “fireneds” have the kindest hearts and we are so grateful.

The busy holiday season meant we had to postpone our 2025 4th Quarter Celebration and Awards ceremony, but it was definitely worth the wait!

Elisabeth Navarro is one of our valued MA/X-ray technicians who has really SHINED over the past few months. 🤩 She was originally nominated by Dr. Pham, but quickly gained the unanimous vote of ALL of our pediatricians, as well as our management team. Elisabeth was recognized for her commitment as a dedicated member of our RKUC staff and has shown a tremendous amount of growth and accomplishment over the past year.

We couldn’t be more proud of Elisabeth and feel blessed to have her on our team. Please help us congratulate her on this much deserved award! Way to go! 🌟

Jonathan Manuel “aka” Johnny was also one of our original medical assistants brought on at the inception of Rainbow Kids Urgent Care. From day one, Johnny has demonstrated his commitment to providing quality patient care, always with a positive attitude and a smile that reassures our patients and families that they are in good hands.

“Johnny has over 10 years of experience working in urgent care settings, where his guiding motto has always been, ‘Patients always come first.’ He is deeply patient-oriented and takes pride in creating a comfortable, welcoming, and friendly environment for both patients and their families.

Johnny’s passion for healthcare began at a young age. When he was five years old, he helped his mother care for his older brother, who was born with a rare diagnosis that required constant supervision. His brother underwent multiple surgeries and spent much of his childhood at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego. Being involved in his care inspired him to dedicate his life to helping others.”
