AB1504 has been signed by the Governor of CA. Although not perfect some good changes occurred by communicating with staff and participating in the hearing. We, Massage Therapists, are now fully recognized as health care workers. Our dress code is not dictated by others; but you know, dress appropriately. People no longer need a doctor's note for certain areas, which takes the burden off them with much needed work. You can still require one, it's your practice. Definitely have a consent form.
So, all in all, CAMTC will continue for 4 more years. All of this is effective Jan 2026. Things can be done when we work together.

This is a good point from a well known MLD therapist in SoCal.
You take a course, you get a certificate of completion.
Hence, I took a course over the weekend, I get this piece of paper like a participant badge.
I am a certified massage therapist in Ca because I took a 500hr course, submitted fingerprints, photos, and pay a fee every 2 years to be able to work with the public.

When I take my MLD course, one is 40 hrs, then CLT is 135. You do hands on, and take a test. Then you are a certified lymphatic therapist because you are specialized in it. Its more education, and then you can sign up with LANA or other groups to really cement that you know what you are doing.

Just because I took a class in something doesnt mean you are an expert. Ask questions. How many hours, where did you take these classes, how many clients do you see that need this type of work. Can you show me your certs of completion. And they should also be about to show their CAMTC card or paper cert, of not in the office verify them on camtc.org verify a therapist.

Also. We are Certified, not licensed, in the State of California.

Vermont is registered
Wyoming, Kansas, and Minnesota (I think) have nothing.

So. If you go to a therapist and they said they are licensed, also ask them what that means and who licensed them.

Congrats to for its 1st virtual summit! It was so educational. Aromatherapy, lymphatic system, hospital setting, and bone marrow. I was the mod for thr Bone Marrow section.

As a CPR Instructor since 2017 it was so amazing to see in 2024 the introduction to FEMALE MANNIKANS!!! yes, it's true. You can get a mannikan.
In AHA BLS classes we do talk about pregnant women receiving CPR, and briefly touch on women. It is a touchy situation. But they also need CPR. You will need to take off their clothes, and bra. Then take a light covering and cover their breast's back up if needed. After applying the AED pads. It's not scary, you are saving a life.

New mask, who dis!
This is pretty cool. The filter was a bit tricky to put on (fit filter onto reinforcement with little holes and pegs). I love the style. Light, fog protection, not muffled when I speak. I got 2 colors. Red and purple.
Looking forward to my day at work wearing it.

Our Story

Kimberly E Austin Healing Arts Institute, June 2015-September 2015 Philosophy: I'm a firm believer of helping people. I listen to what the client wants and I deliver it for a fulfilling, refreshing massage.

I originally started my life out as wanting to be an accountant, and was one for 2 years at small CPA firms auditing. But something was always missing. I knew I loved to massage people, ever since I was a child, I'd massage my family members all the time. After my job ended I decided to take the leap and go to massage school. I ended up at the wonderful Healing Arts Institute in Citrus Heights, CA, where she learned to do Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Hot Stone massage, and chair massage. Later she took a Cupping Massage class, which she loved, and now incorporates that into her practice.

In my spare time I love to crochet, I finally got to join the Crochet Guild of Sacramento! I love hanging out with my boyfriend, baking, and seeing my nieces when I go visit my family.
