Herbal Gift Boxes Coming! Fire Cider Class in December...

Along the porch in front of the shop, I still have elderflowers and Spanish needles blooming - this is the latest I have ever seen them bloom - so there will be some harvesting happening in the coming weeks! Elderflowers are a great addition to tea blends, and make a useful tincture. They support people when they are suffering with colds, flus and fevers. They are also very helpful for a runny nose and congested sinuses. I am hearing of a lot of this going around right now. Have you ever wondered at how the natural "medicine" we need becomes available right as we need it? Likewise, Spanish Needles, also known by it's botanical name: Bidens pilosa, exhibits a wide spectrum of medicinal properties, including antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, liver-protective, and diuretic qualities. I like to make a tincture with it and blend into immune boosting formulas, but I was reading about its retinol content and may mix it into some face serum this season.
I have been moving residences this past week, so I am a little behind on herbal production. Many of you are awaiting the return of my Herbal Gift Boxes. I am going to release the order forms next week and have orders shipped by December 17, with local pickup & delivery until December 22. Plan to get your orders in as soon as the order forms are released, because inventory will likely sell out!

After four years of studying and practicums, I am very proud to officially announce that I have achieved Certified Raindrop Technique Specialist status. I am working to achieve Instructor Certification from the Center for Aromatherapy Research and Education, so more practicum sessions are available, and I plan to offer classes in the summer. Many folks ask me about my Naturopathy Certification. I attended the Southern Institute of Natural Health, headquartered in Ocean Springs, Mississippi between 2019 and 2022. I took classes in Traditional Naturopathy, Iridology, Medical Herbalism, and Biological Analysis. I am working towards a board certification with either the American Naturopathic Medical Association, or the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. This past Saturday, I attempted a return demo for the Raindrop and Vitaflex techniques with a supervisory instructor from the Center for Aromatherapy Research and Education ... and I passed!!!
The seed of this accomplishment was planted in my heart in 2014, when I began my distributorship with Young Living Essential Oils and started to crave more knowledge. This has been a long faith-filled journey that feels like it has only just begun.
In just a few more swipes of the pen, I will be a Certified Raindrop Technique Specialist - a designation that has taken almost 5 years - and tons of spiritual growth - to complete.
At this time, I desire to attain status as a CARE Certified Instructor of Raindrop, Vitaflex, Emotional Release and the History of Anointing, as well as a practitioner of Vibrational Raindrop Technique.

Kelly McGee is a northern transplant (originally from Lancaster, Ohio) who has been living in Louisiana for 15 years. She is a Licensed Massage Therapist, a Reiki Master & Teacher, an herbalist, and mother to 4 young children. She has a strong entrepreneurial spirit, a deep passion for sharing her knowledge and skills, and loves to empowering others in their journey to wellness. She strives to live in balance - to spend as much time playing as she does working, and as much time learning as she does creating.
She has been a licensed Massage Therapist since 2000, and has most recently been a proprietor of a wellness center in Covington, Louisiana. Her work style varies widely from regular therapeutic massage to support athletes, to energy healing sessions to aid clients who suffer from chronic pain, to providing chair massage at events and corporate offices. She has worked as a Massage Therapy Instructor at Delgado Community College from 2009-2012. Her Reiki studies began in Ohio in 2001, and she went on to achieve Karuna Reiki Mastership in 2008. She teaches Reiki regularly and plans to attain Continuing Education Provider status from the Louisiana Board of Massage this year.
She began annual trips to the Women's Herbal Conference and the Black Mountain Herbal Conference in 2006, gathering as much information as possible from renown teachers Mary Bove, Rosita Arvigo, Rosemary Gladstar, Susun W**d, Matthew Wood, David Winston and Paul Bergner to name a few. She studied Health Arts and Sciences for one year at Goddard College in VT in 2008, when her motherhood journey began. For over a decade, she has mentored on the herbs of the Gulf South with Darrell Martin of Blue Boy Herbs and most recently has studied Naturopathy with Dr. Betty Sue O’Brian, ND at the Southern Institute of Natural Health.
Besides completing the Naturopathy course, her current labor of love is the development of McGee's Magic Salve, an herbal infused balm originally formulated to alleviate symptoms of arthritis. The concept was born around 8 years ago and has evolved alongside Kelly's knowledge of the healing powers of the plants around her. To date it has only been distributed in the old-fashioned way - "Word of Mouth", but she hopes to develop an online marketplace in the next few months.
Her children (all under age 10) are her by and large her greatest teachers, and simultaneously, her best students. Her parenting style is in constant growth, and is strongly influenced by the work she does in the realm of natural medicine. She is in love with the eagerness her little ones have for all the fun things she loves to do - giving reiki and massage, hunt and pick herbs, create remedies and nurture the body. She finds them so wise, and their natural inclination so great. She hopes McGee's Magic Salve will become a family business!
