We had a magical Friday the 13th today with Bruce the Magician! Here is one of the tricks he performed with our resident Nancy as his assistant.

This week we collaborated with several other Edenbrook facilities in the Edenbrook Olympics. We had some extra help for our “Ski Jump Tester” event so I was able to take some video. Other events this week were Zamboni Driver- we used chopsticks to transfer ice cubes bowl to bowl, Mogul Setter- trying to stack as many towers of 3 marshmallows as possible (think it’s easy, you try it.) Mountain Groomer- using your non dominant hand to spoon as many cottonballs over to an empty bowl without having them fall off the spoon. And the final event Rope Tow Engineer- sending as many candy canes down a line of fishing line as possible. All events were completed in minute to win it fashion and the 3 highest scores submitted each day. The residents really beamed with competitive spirit, enthusiasm and enjoyed cheering eachother on each day!

Today was Alter Ego Day, the last day of our Super Hero Themed activity professionals week. Our Activity Director, Sara, dressed in preppy pink style and was nicknamed “K-Pop” for the day. Cornelius dressed in a very unique style that residents are begging he bring back at least monthly. We are so thankful for our residents and staff that bring meaning to the work we do. I hope you all enjoyed our theme week as much as we enjoy bringing smiles to your faces. ☺️

Thursday’s theme for activity professionals week was Fashion Icon Day. The theme day challenge was to dress in the fashion of the activity team. Residents and staff had fun watching the creativity of the participants!

Celebrating Activity Professional week with some fun theme days! The theme this year for activity professionals week is:Beyond Ordinary, Everyday Heroes.
