A hospital superbug that eats plastic?
Scientists just found that Pseudomonas aeruginosa, one of the deadliest hospital bacteria, can feed on medical plastic, the same material used in IV lines, sutures, and implants.
Using an enzyme called Pap1, it breaks plastic down into food, forms slimy biofilms, and becomes nearly impossible for antibiotics to kill.
