Mobile MRIs require a 480V, 3-phase power connection, generators alone won’t cut it during scans.

Tip: Before delivery, confirm your facility’s electrical setup matches the scanner’s requirements to avoid last-minute delays.

Most modern MRI magnets are built to recycle helium, not lose it. If you're seeing unexpected helium loss, it's not just wasteful, it’s expensive.

Whether it’s a coldhead failure, a chiller issue, or weekend downtime, the result is the same: costly helium fills and extended equipment outages.

Remote monitoring with SWMR can catch the early warning signs and keep you from learning the hard way.

Not all mobile MRI scanners or providers are created equal.

Before signing any lease or purchase, make sure you understand who owns the unit, what service is included, and whether the size and power needs fit your facility.

Working with a knowledgeable partner like SWMR helps you make the right call the first time.

If your chiller goes down, your coldhead shuts off, and your helium starts boiling off fast.

Tip: Schedule quarterly chiller checks, especially before extreme weather seasons. A quick check now can save thousands in helium loss later.

Power Problems Kill Magnets

A mobile MRI generator isn’t designed to run the scanner. It only runs the environmentals. Running the scanner on generator power = burnt components + unstable scan quality.

Here's what to know. Always use a stable 480V 3-phase facility power connection for scanning.

What to Check:
Voltage balance
Breaker rating (3×100A)
Russellstoll connections for corrosion or heat marks

One bad cable can take your magnet offline.

Some call it field service.
We call it field surgery.

Full RFIS swap on a Siemens Espree, done with precision, speed, and no guesswork. When your magnet's RF chain is down, downtime stacks fast. That’s why we move faster.
