Our condolences to the family of Daniel E. Klingensmith who passed away in his home on Thursday, December 11,2025.

Daniel E. Klingensmith, 60, of Kittanning passed away unexpectedly in his home on Thursday, December 11,2025.
Born July 16,1965 in Kittanning, he was the son of the late Ronald W. and Helen (Milliron) Klingensmith.
Daniel worked for Eljer for a time then Trader Horn. He enjoyed listening to music, hunting in his younger years, and having a pig roast/ dual birthday celebration for him and his beloved daughter every summer.
Daniel lived quietly and enjoyed his time in quiet reflection and peace but mostly treasured his family time.
He is survived by his daughter Kira Klingensmith of Kittanning; grandchildren Raegyn, Ronin, and Journie; sisters Wendy (Michael) Holizna of Ford City and Robin (Kenneth) Roth of AZ; brothers Ronald Klingensmith of Ford City and Christopher (Heather) Klingensmith of Blairsville; extended family and friends.
All arrangements were private and entrusted to Mantini Funeral Home, Inc., Ford City.

Our condolences to the family of Susan Lynn ( Guthrie) Culp who passed away on Monday, December 8,2025.

Susan Lynn (Guthrie) Culp, 70, of Ford City passed away in her home on Monday, December 8,2025.
Susan Guthrie Culp was born to Jane and Wesley Guthrie in 1955 in Cowansville, PA.
She cherished her children and granddaughter. She loved her dogs and they were her best friends and constant companions. Susan enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, and decorating her home. Her greatest joy was being a mom and raising her children.
Susan went to college obtaining her associate’s degree as a Medical Secretary and worked for over 20 years as a medical secretary.
Susan is survived by her beloved husband Chris Culp; her loving and cherished son Michael (Nicole) Crownover of whom she had an unbreakable bond; granddaughter Mallory Lynn (fiancé Caleb); and her canine best friends Josie and Lily Belle.
Susan was preceded in death by her daughter Melissa Lynn; parents Jane and Edward Warner (whom she considered her “Dad”); and brother Wesley J. Guthrie; and grandparents J.J. and Rhoda Porterfield.
Susan had deep faith in God and went Sunday School and church at West Glade Run Church as a young girl, then in later years to Brick Church Lutheran Church.
All arrangements were private and entrusted to Mantini Funeral Home, Inc., Ford City.

Our condolences to the family of Thomas R. Clever who passed away on November 26,2025.

Thomas R. Clever,63, of Butler, formerly of Ford City passed away on Wednesday, November 26,2025 in Butler Memorial Hospital, Butler.

Born January 26,1962 in Kittanning, he was the son of the late James W. and Helen P. (Bonnett) Clever.

Tom was a chainsaw mechanic prior to his becoming disabled. He was a previous member of several private clubs, such as the C.U. Club in Ford City.

He enjoyed rebuilding mechanical things, riding his Harley, Bantam Fest, G-Fest, and Bowling.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wife Theresa K. (Norton) Clever

In 2017.

He is survived by girlfriend Amber Griffin of Butler; brother Dennis (Deb Charmley) Clever of Darlington; nephew Shawn Clever of Ford City; nieces Courtney and Kylie Cotten; several great-nieces and great-nephews; his beloved fur children, canines Chevy, Missy, Sierra, Night Train, Cruze, and Malibu, and feline Straggler.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 5,2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 in the Mantini Funeral Home, Inc., 701 Sixth Avenue, Ford City. Additional visitation will be held Saturday, December 6,2025 from 12 Noon until time of service in the funeral home at 1 P.M. with his cousin Pastor Joshua Webb as officiant.

Interment private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to assist with funeral costs.

Our condolences to the family of Eleanor Szymanski who passed away Wednesday, November 26,2025 in ACMH, Kittanning.

Eleanor Helen (Bator) Szymanski, 97, of Ford City passed away peacefully in ACMH on Wednesday, November 26,2025.

She was born July 11,1928 in Pittsburgh to Frank and Mary A. (Odrechowski) Bator.

Eleanor attended Ford City High School through her junior year. She married Frank “Lammie” Szymanski on February 9,1948. That marriage lasted 69 ½ years (until Frank passed away). They had three children, one daughter and two sons.

Eleanor was a member of St. Francis of Paola Catholic Church until it’s closing. She participated in the Perpetual Eucharist Adoration for many years and helped weekly with the counting of the offerings. She then joined Christ, Prince of Peace Church and remained faithful her whole life. She prayed daily and kept her prayer books with her rosary under her pillow.

Eleanor was a homemaker and a wonderful stay at home mom. She cared for both her parents until their deaths at age 89 and 90. She was a fantastic cook and baker (especially her Roski cookies). She was always very active, walking “uptown”, traveling to Atlantic City on bus trips, eating out, enjoying shopping adventures, playing Yahtzee at her kitchen table, feeding her chipmunks, playing poker with her family, and putting together puzzles. She made lifelong friends while bowling for Falcon Lanes, and had one perfect 300 score game.

Eleanor is survived by her beloved children, Carol (Donald) Swaney of Adrian, Thomas (Maureen) Szymanski of Manor Twp. and their son Lucas (Alexis), and Dan Szymanski of Kittanning and his children Hunter (Rachel) and Gavin (fiancé Jordin); great-grandchildren Kaisley and Kaden who were the light of her later years; her sister-in-law Marlene Szymanski who was her true and loyal friend; nieces, nephews and their extended family.

In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her cherished husband Frank “Lammie” Szymanski who was her one and only love; her brothers and their wives, George and Agnes Bator, and Ed and Helen Bator; her brothers -in-law Jimmy, Robert “Pee Wee”, and Leonard “Moon” Szymanski, along with his wife Bernice; niece Susan Bator; and nephews Ronnie and Jerry Bator.

Eleanor missed her family and friends and was ready to go to “Jeffrey’s (across the street) for years. Her family was glad she waited. We will miss and love her until our last breaths, when we will see her again. May God Bless Her and May She Rest in Peace.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, November 30,2025 from 2 P.M. until 4 P.M. in the Mantini Funeral Home, Inc., 701 Sixth Avenue, Ford City. Additional visitation will be held on Monday, December 1,2025 from 10 A.M. until time of transfer prayers at 10:30 A.M.

Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted in Christ, Prince of Peace Catholic Church on Monday, December 1,2025 at 11 A.M. with Father Madhu Kodavatikanti as officiant. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, Cadogan, beside her cherished husband Frank.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her church, Christ, Prince of Peace Catholic Church, or to the charity of one’s choice.

Our condolences to the family of Randall Reddinger who passed away peacefully in his home Thanksgiving morning, November 27,2025.

Randall “ Randy “ Reddinger, 73 of Ford City , a lifelong resident of Garretts Run and Shay
area, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and daughter on November
27, 2025. He was born on November 28, 1951 in Ford City.
Randy graduated from Lenape Vo-tech in 1970. The following year he married Diana
Hartman Reddinger, in August of 1971. Together they shared more than 54 years of
marriage filled with love and partnership. Randy was the proud father of Marcie Reddinger
Baker and her husband Keith Baker. He is also survived by his brother Bradley Reddinger of
Kittanning, PA.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Earl J. Reddinger and Delores Westwood
Reddinger, his siblings, Joel Reddinger and Babbette Reddinger and his nephew Matthew
Reddinger.
Randy worked as mechanic for Surefire Wireline service until his retirement in 2015. Earlier
in his career he was employed as welder at Pullman Standard in Butler PA and at Bowrs
Caol as a mechanic.
An avid outdoorsman, Randy found joy in fishing, hunting and spending time at his camp in
Marienville PA. He served as Vice President of the Marienville Rod and Gun Club where he
was deeply involved in maintaining the fish hatchery and stocking streams throughout
Forest County. He especially loved watching children discover the excitement of fishing.
Randy also enjoyed the World of Outlaws sprint car racing, NASCAR, football and watching
Hallmark Christmas movies along with celebrating the Holiday season. He was a social
member of the Kittanning Twp Volunteer Fire Department where he lent a hand with fish
fries and turkey dinners. Among his favorite memories were fishing trips to Alaska with his
Good Friend Joe Rogers, adventures he often spoke fondly of while keeping a close eye on
the fishing and weather reports from Cooper Landing in Alaska.
Randy will be remembered for his devotion to his family and making sure the fish were
healthy at the hatchery which he and Joe spoke about almost daily. He will be deeply
missed by all that knew him.
At Randy’s request visitation will be private. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations
be made to in his honor to the Marienville Rod and Gun Club, PO Box 631 Marienville PA

Our condolences to the family of Stephen D. Vokish who passed away in his home on Friday, November 21,2025.

Stephen D. Vokish, 69, of Gilpin Township passed away in his home on Friday, November 21,2025.

Born March 25,1956 in Natrona Heights, he was the son of the late Steven and Henrietta (Szymkiewicz) Vokish.
Steve was a previous member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Natrona Heights. He was a Master Bottler at Red Ribbon Pop in Natrona for 40+ years prior to his retirement. Steve devoted himself to family and his beloved dog Bruin.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Joanne (Ed) Vokish Lunz, Larry Vokish, James Vokish, and Jerry Vokish; and nephew Dennis Lunz.
Steve is survived by sister Sandi (Bill) Crytzer of Saxonburg, niece Gretchen (Charles) Young, Mark (Diana) Lunz, Erica Hays, Jerry Lunz, Larry Vokish, Jon (Ellen) Lunz; several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Per Steve’s wishes, all services were private and entrusted to Mantini Funeral Home, Inc., Ford City.

Our condolences to the family of John E. Bartolovic who passed away on Thursday, November 13,2025.

John Edward Bartolovic, 84, of Ford City passed away on Thursday, November
13, 2025, at ACMH in Kittanning after a long courageous battle with pulmonary
fibrosis.
Born June 15, 1941, in Kittanning, he was the son of the late Catherine Boguslawski,
Ralph “Bud” Greer and stepson of Joseph Boguslawski.
John, affectionately known as Bart, graduated from Ford City High School in 1960
and was a lifelong resident. He was employed at Eljer Pottery Plant initially as a
Caster then worked in the Maintenance Department until he retired in 2003.
He was a member of the former St. Francis DePaul Catholic Church and a member
of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Cadogan.
An avid outdoorsman, Bart had a zest for life and was health conscious. He enjoyed
biking, weightlifting, running alongside his children in 10K races, fishing, hunting, and
golfing. He particularly treasured fishing trips to Kinzua Dam with family and friends,
adventures in Maine with his lifelong friend Jaggs, and a memorable hunting trip to
Alaska. He loved family vacations to the beach and deep-sea fishing.
After retirement, he enjoyed walking nine holes at Lenape Heights Golf Course with
his other lifelong friend Chuckie. And, of course, no outing was complete without a
cold Iron City Beer, which he often jokingly called a vitamin.
Family was at the center of Bart’s life. He took great pride in watching his children
and grandchildren participate in sports cheering them on with enthusiasm and love.
He especially enjoyed Friday Night under the lights at Ford City Football Field. He
was fan of Penn State and Notre Dame football.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son Damian, as well as numerous aunts and
uncles.
Bart is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Cecilia (Nimerosky) Bartolovic, the
love of his life; children John (Jeannie) Bartolovic of Kittanning, Kathy (Steve)
Schnaubelt of Kittanning, and Eric (Kara) Bartolovic of Ford City; grandchildren JJ,
Jenna, Ben, and Bella Bartolovic; great-grandchildren Jizelle, Cameron, Jelena, and
Blaze; half-brothers Ralph “Bud” (Sharley) Greer and Michael (Janet) Greer;
half-sister Gail Ann (David) Kelly; and along with nieces, nephews, extended family,
and many great friends.
Bart’s life was full of love, laughter, and adventure. He will be remembered as a
devoted husband, proud father and grandfather, loyal friend, and a man who
embraced life with energy, humor, and heart. He will always be remember as a hard
working man who provided for his family.
A private viewing for the immediate family will be held at Mantini Funeral Home.
A public Christian Burial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday November 22, 2025
at 11AM in the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, First Street Cadogan PA 16212, with
the Very Reverend Eric Dinga officiating. Burial will follow at St. Francis DePaul
Cemetery, Cadogan. Everyone is welcome to attend a luncheon in the church
hall to celebrate Bart’s life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bart’s honor to the Pulmonary Fibrosis
Foundation, 223 W. Jackson Blvd., Suite 350, Chicago, IL 60606, or to St. Lawrence

Our condolences to the family of Linda D. Patton, who passed aeay on Sunday, November 16,2025.

Linda D. Patton,74, of Lower Burrell, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, November 16,2025 in Armstrong Rehab and Nursing Center, Kittanning.

Born April 5,1951 in New Kensington, she was the daughter of Ed Carlisle and Gloria Jenson.

Linda worked as a retail clerk for 380 Auction prior to her retirement. She was a devoted member of Braeburn Community Church in Braeburn, and her faith was important to her.

She loved flower gardening, the beach, travelling, and her dog “Dezi”. Linda was well-known for her fashion sense and enjoyed her “fashionista” status. She knew just how to pull an outfit together and present herself quite well. Most of all she loved her children and time spent with her family.

Linda is survived by daughter Dodi Patton and husband Gary Hendershot of Cowansville; son Ron “Dunner” Patton, Jr. of Whitefish, MT; her boyfriend Al Lucas of Braeburn; former daughter-in-law Sue Patton; stepbrother Ed (Kimberly) Carlisle of Lower Burrell; cousin Debbie Szarewicz; and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 19,2025 from 10 AM until time of funeral service at 12 Noon in Mantini Funeral Home, Inc., 701 Sixth Avenue, Ford City with her clergy, Pastor Vicki Shaeffer as officiant. Interment to follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.

Our condolences to the family and friends of Joseph Protti who passed away on November 4,2025.

Joseph Protti Jr (Joe), 69, passed away peacefully in his sleep November 4th 2025. He was born in Ford City at 722 5th Avenue January 15th 1956. He is preceded in death by his father Joseph S. Protti Sr., his mother Elizabeth (Knasko) Protti, and his sister Catherine Ann (Protti) Simpson. He is survived by his sister Elizabeth (Protti) Patterson, brother-in-law Robert Patterson, nephew Mark Patterson, and cousin Paul Gribik and Paul’s wife Moira.

He was a graduate of Ford City High school. He earned a degree as Associate in Specialized Technology (Diesel Technology) from Rosedale Technical Institute in 2005. He achieved additional training earning him a commercial drivers license Class A, certification in refrigerant recovery and recycling, Heavy Duty Friction and Brake training, and Marine Propulsion Engines.

His career included being a fireman at Eljer’s pottery in Ford City and Diesel mechanic at Consol-Energy. He worked on many tug boats on the rivers, calling them his “ladies”. His passions included scuba diving becoming a master scuba diver and earning recognition as a dive master which is a level of professionalism involving an instructional level of diving. His diving experience led him to places such as Cozumel, Mexico; Roatan, Honduras; and Nassau in the Bahamas. He received a 40 year appreciation award from PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors). He was also an avid sky diver becoming an active member of the Sky Dive Pa. family in Grove City for many years.

He also loved nature and was a frequent sight by many as he rode his bicycle on the area’s nature trails. He was often seen looking at the stars with his telescopes late at night. He would describe this activity as visiting Saturn or other celestial bodies.

He thrived on challenging experiences. An expression heard by many of his friends is “This is exhilarating” in situations that many people shied away from. He loved life and the experiences life brought. His love of his family was so evident in how he took such care of his father Joseph for so many years before his death.

I know in my heart that Joe found his transition to a new existence an “exhilarating” ride. You are loved by friends and family and are missed.

Our heartfelt condolences to the family of Anthony J. Remis who passed away on Wednesday, November 5,2025.

Anthony J. Remis,95, of Kittanning passed away peacefully in his residence with his family by his side on Wednesday, November 5,2025.

Born October 30,1930 in Ford City, he was the son of the late Anton and Anna (Sacik) Remis.

Tony was a lifelong resident of the area. He proudly served his country during the Korean War. As a young man, he worked as a firefighter. He then held various positions within PPG prior to retiring. Tony enjoyed camping and playing cards with his friends, fishing, golfing, and was very devoted to his catholic faith. He loved celebrating every holiday with his family and deeply appreciated his time with those he loved.

Tony’s Slovak heritage and his deep catholic faith were cornerstones of his life. He treasured the friendship of Father Volz and shared his love for the Lord.

In addition to his parents Tony was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 70 years Dolores L. Remis, who passed away on April 2,2025; his cherished son Anthony J. Remis, Jr. who passed away February 19,2023; siblings Francis Jurbala, Martha Lux, and Elizabeth “Betsy” Remis; and brother-in-law Alexander Foradori.

Tony is survived by daughters Alexandria (Wayne) Schultz of Butler and Elizabeth Remis of Kittanning; daughter-in-law Deborah Remis of Plum; grandchildren Theresa Schultz of Oregon, Philip Schultz of Butler, and Walker Remis and Elijah Remis, both of Plum; siblings Rose (the late Bob) Fichthorn, Anna M. (the late Robert) Borowitz, Albert (Vera) Remis and Dave Remis; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, November 9,2025 from 4 P.M. until 7 P.M. at Mantini Funeral Home, Inc., 701 Sixth Avenue, Ford City. Additional visitation will be held on Monday, November 10,2025 from 9 A.M. until Military Honors at 9:15 A.M. followed by transfer prayers at 9:30 A.M.

Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Monday, November 10,2025 at 10 A.M. in St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Cadogan with his devoted clergy Father Edward Volz as officiant. Interment will follow in Guardian Angel Cemetery, Cadogan.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Cornerstone Caring and Lutheran Life VNA Hospice at Home for the wonderful care and kindness given to Tony and his family.

Michael S. “Eagle” Bowser, 76, of Butler, formerly of Kittanning, passed away on Friday, October 31,2025 in Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born January 12,1949 in Kittanning, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Dorothea (Innes) Bowser.

Eagle proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He worked and retired from AK Steel. Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a sports fan. He enjoyed every moment spent with his family.

In addition to his parents, Eagle was preceded in death by his beloved wife Deborah (Vojna) Bowser; sister Suzanne Rumbaugh; brother Charles A. Bowser, Jr.; in-laws Ronald Rumbaugh, Annette Biggers, and Timothy Berard.

He is survived by daughter Margaret “Maggie” (Nic) Gaillot of Butler; son Ben (Michelle) of Gibsonia; grandchildren Luke, Shelby, William, Eamon, George; sisters Dorothea Jageman of Ford City and Lillian Bowser, also of Ford City; brothers Stephen (Pam) Bowser of Kittanning, and Jeffrey (Sharon) Bowser of Delaware; also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews; extended family and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday November 6,2025 from 11 AM until 1 PM in the Mantini Funeral Home, Inc., 701 Sixth Avenue, Ford City. Burial with committal will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Ford City.

Our condolences to the family of Florence L (Szybka) Placha who passed away on Monday, October 27,2025.

Florence L. (Szybka) Placha, 86, of Ford City passed away peacefully on Monday, October 27,2025 in Kittanning Health and Rehab, Kittanning.

Born February 13,1939 in Ford City, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Avanelle (Goodman) Szybka.

Florence was a lifelong resident of Ford City. She was a homemaker. Florence was a member of the former St. Francis Catholic Church and a member of Christ, Prince of Peace Church. Florence was a member of both choirs. She was a longtime volunteer at the Ford City Library and enjoyed reading. Her faith and her family were her world.

In addition to her parents, Florence was preceded in death by her husband John Placha, Sr.; her son John Placha, Jr.; and her sister Carol Reeseman.

Florence is survived by her daughters Margory Placha of Ford City and Maureen Hulings of Knox; son Tom Placha of Ford City; granddaughters Aubery (Tim) Guzzo of Knox and Chelsea (Sheldon) O’Neil, also of Knox; great-granddaughter Elizabeth; brothers Leonard (Roseann) Szybka of Prospect and James (Veronica) Szybka of Kittanning; extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29,2025 from 5 – 8 PM in the Mantini Funeral Home, Inc.,701 Sixth Avenue, Ford City.

Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Thursday, October 30,2025 at 10 AM in Christ, Prince of Peace Catholic Church with the Very Reverend Eric Dinga as officiant. Interment to follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Cadogan.
