still time to turn the world.....

The world is in the trouble it’s in now because love is not our bottom line. It’s certainly the bottom line for billions and billions of people, if not always behaviorally then certainly in the way we intend to live our lives. But the larger social, political, and economic systems of the world are guided not by love but by greed, both for money and for worldly power.

This has thrown human civilization off its moral compass, which is not to say that as a species we were ever perfectly aligned with it. Yet never in history has the entire globe been at the effect of a system that does more to suppress than to exalt humanitarian values. We are morally out of whack. The main elements of a compassionate society have been squashed in favor of oppressive economic and political models that do not serve humanity’s long term interests.

From the destruction of our planet to an obsessive race for nuclear dominance to an unregulated quest for AI superiority to endless violence between and among ourselves, our collective behavioral patterns routinely overwhelm all efforts to make compassion for our fellow human beings the overarching goal of civilized development.

This has placed us on a perilous course toward our own destruction, should we not evolve beyond our current paradigm of soulless economic development at the expense of human values. Each of us can play the part of interventionist. Anyone who hears the call can add our energy to the historic challenge to change humanity's direction. In any way, whether large or small, be part of the evolutionary u-turn. It is real and it's happening. Its signs are everywhere. Let's annunciate a new beginning.
