There has been many accomplishments and opportunities in my career that I never posted about publicly, only close friends and family know. I just hate that I’m posting this picture under these circumstances.

was the second artist I’ve ever had the pleasure of working on in becoming a celebrity massage therapist.

I was doing massage & bodywork for another artist when Coolio’s manager at the time approached me in wanting my services as well for him. His manager introduce me as soon as Coolio got off stage in finishing his performance. Coolio greeted me and personally walked me back to his dressing room as we talked. After which his team paid me and allowed me to hang out with him and his team for a bit. Coolio is good people, truly one of the nicest guys you’d ever meet!!

REQUESTED, APPROVED & HIRED!! Massage & Bodywork services given to Elton John: Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour!!

The back story as to how this happened is why I give all praise in Long story but to keep it short, this is the second time his tour came to Columbia, and I could’ve provided services the first time but it didn’t happen which I was very upset about however no one can block what God has planned for you. So for this to come full circle, I’ll tell anyone to never give up and trust the process.

I am the first massage therapist to provide services for them since this tour began in January. Myself and everyone involved with the tour was surprised this was approved by the tour manger (pictured in next slide) for Elton John due to Covid protocols. EVERY person that entered the building to work had to take a rapid test and wear mask all day so the chances of close contact with massage was VERY slim but because everyone on the tour was in bad shape and I was already on site, my services were in high demand and the tour felt comfortable (tested me twice with a private nurse lol) in letting me work on everyone because I had the skill, experience, I carried myself very well but more so someone remembered me from 2 years ago and wanted MY services.

16hr day, but 5 1/2hrs of which I was massaging non-stop… SO MUCH RESPECT was given to me by the tour when they found out I was working as a stagehand and a therapist in pulling double duty with only a 45 minute break to myself the entire day, that being said they took very good care of me for an undisclosed amount in paying for my time and what I am worth. I’m a very grateful and appreciative the tour manager gave me this opportunity🙏🏾

As I said before, let your work speak for you and always be the hardest worker in the room.

SN: If you have a business or service, KEEP POSTING even if you don’t get support, likes or views. People see it and all it takes is for the right person to give you your break. “Likes” don’t give you validation, your talent does.

I am proud of myself ❤️

Client came in for a full body massage but wanted some focus work done on his knee. He just had a knee replacement a couple months ago.

After just 5 minutes of work on the knee, he started to get off the table, worried if his knee was going to be in pain once he stepped on the floor.

Amazed, he said, “What was that cream you put on my knee?? I can move my knee a lot better than when I first walked in!”

“Sir it wasn’t the cream, it was the stainless steel instruments I used doing a technique called Graston”.

Graston decreases overall time of treatment and fosters faster rehabilitation and recovery by reducing scar tissue post op.

5 minutes on the knee versus an hour of therapy... you choose.

HAD KNEE SURGERY? ARE YOU STILL IN PAIN POST OP MONTHS LATER??

Come see me!

Graston decreases overall time of treatment, fosters faster rehabilitation/recovery, reduces need for anti-inflammatory medication and resolves chronic conditions thought to be permanent.

Since his surgery to repair a torn quad tendon, he has not been in as much pain because I reduced the scar tissue in his knee!

Scar tissue is THE main cause of pain post op. Many believe that something went wrong with the surgery because they are supposed to feel better after surgery, wrong, you are still going to hurt hence why physical therapy and SELF CARE is recommended to help facilitate healing. Many people don’t it either out of cost or laziness... but seeing a PT with massage therapy will get you back to 90% in less the time.

By him coming to see me regularly I was able to get his knee back to being functional. He was able to drop 30lbs of weight by still being able to exercise post op 💪🏾

Anterior, middle, and posterior deltoids each has its own distinctive pain that patterns itself by staying local without much spillover into any other muscle groups. It’ll be a dull, local pain and weakness of the shoulder doing abduction, flexion, or extension of the shoulder.
-
Please note that shoulder pain is NOT limited to just one of the three heads of the deltoids. The client above had a minor issue with a myofascial trigger point in his anterior deltoid causing pain while bench pressing.
-
I have to emphasize that there are an ARRAY of other muscular imbalances that can facilitate shoulder pain(s)!!
-
You can hear me ask if he sleeps on that shoulder. He said no however he does have a holding pattern that we identified. Sleeping on the shoulder is one of many holding patterns that can cause rounded shoulders due to poor posture habits. Focusing too much on one particular muscle group without working the antagonist muscle(s) causes the primary muscle to become hypertonic while the antagonist becomes over stretched and weak, thus causing pain.

TROUBLE WITH YOUR RANGE OF MOTION W/DEADLIFTS? CAUSING PAIN? Tag a friend

Shortening of the hip extensors can pull down on the ischial tuberosity, rotating the pelvis posteriorly. A normal range of pelvic tilt is approximately 10 degrees from the ASIS (Anterior Superior Iliac Spine) to the PSIS (Posterior Superior Iliac Spine). A decrease from 10 degrees will be noted with a posteriorly rotated pelvis. This decrease in the hips will lead to restricted range of motion in trying to bend over, hence why you are having some pain in your lower back. The problem is hypertonicity of the hamstrings.

Client above was also lacking blood flow. Many bodybuilders come in for a deep tissue massage to help with muscle growth and break up any adhesions, trigger points, fascial restrictions, and to realign muscle fibers that will help them become bigger by putting more blood, oxygen, and nutrients into the muscle in prepping for a show.

After a 5 minute demo, he could already feel a difference in his ROM and how much bigger his left hamstring felt with more blood supply. Imagine what 1 hour can do!

Amateur dead lifters...
🗣 DO NOT LIFT THE WEIGHT W/YOUR LOWER BACK!! You will be in a world of hurt if you continue to do so. It’s a common mistake and one of the main reason many gym goers develop bulging/protruding disc that often leads to pinched nerves and other spinal or soft tissue injuries. You should lift with your legs, i.e. your glutes and hamstrings and bend your knees. Your spine should be flat/straight as possible, NOT arched, with your shoulders back and down from start to finish 🏋🏾‍♂️
-
Ego lifting will have more than just your pride hurting on a failed lift 👨🏾‍🦽🙄 No one cares how much you can or can’t lift. Trying to hang with the big boys or impressing your gym crush is not worth risking injury. You have to crawl before you can walk.

GOT LATERAL KNEE PAIN? Tag a friend
-
The Tensor Fascia Latae (TFL) merges with the longitudinal fascia of the Gluteus Maximus (Butt), forming the Iliotibial Band (ITB).
-
The tendinous fascial bands of the ITB fan out to the patellar retinaculum and attach distally to the lateral condyle of the tibia just below the knee.
-
The IT Band has strong interweaving fibers which are isometric in nature as they guard against collapsing or buckling of the knee laterally.
-
Vigorous muscular overload, as in prolonged jumping, basketball, or distance running, just to name a few, can perpetuate myofascial trigger points in the TFL and Glute Max there by causing lateral knee pain due to an excessively tight IT Band and Vastus Lateralis (one of your four quadriceps)

TIP: Instead rolling out JUST your IT Band with a foam roller, target your Vastus Lateralis (Quad), TFL, and Glute Max. Getting a release in those muscle groups will ease tension off your IT Band and knee.
-
Come in before or after your workout to try out the and the benefits it has to offer!

It hurts so good 💪🏾 🇺🇸
