Good morning! God has been at work in my life and has been teaching me to say yes to Him. In all things. Small things. Big things. Jesus wants my yes.
Back in December, God spoke words to me during prayer at Crosswalk Community Church. He said to help people who were waiting, homeless, hurting. To take the blessing of Creative Spirits and set up an art studio for them. However, I didn’t know where this was to be.
I talked to my pastors and they recommended that I visit the Union Gospel Mission and talk to the new CEO, Eric Weber. I grew up in Sioux Falls and have raised a family in the Sioux Falls area,
but I had never once been to the Union Gospel Mission.
So I said yes. Scheduled a tour. On that tour is when I discovered 50+ men waiting in the day room. God smiled at me when my light bulb went on. We kept touring over at the women’s center. I walked into a room that was so gorgeous and my favorite teal color. I knew that space was meant to be cleaned, cleared, and converted to the art studio for the homeless population.
At that moment, I had no idea how big God’s plan was. I still don’t. What I do know is that He has taken care of every detail (even during a pandemic) to make room for all people to come to His table to heal.
I just closed the door at the 41st Street location, but God continues to open doors. Please join me at the 701 E. 8th Street location. You can see what God is doing—He is on the move in a mighty way to help restore hope to the hurting, to heal the lost, to give rest for the weary. Creative Spirits has become more than I ever imagined. Not because of me but because of God.

I will be updating the calendar with open paint opportunities and other events. One important detail—out of respect for the people who are recovering from addictions—there can be no alcohol brought into this location. If you would like to have wine at your painting event, then we can do a mobile event. As always you are welcome to use the Spirit Lake, Iowa studio location, too.
