There’s a difference between someone who’s learning and growing, and someone who keeps repeating the same harmful patterns while expecting you to adjust. One requires patience. The other requires professional help and genuine willingness to change.

You’re not failing them by recognizing you can’t be both their partner/friend/family member and their therapist. That was never your role.

You are allowed to step out of the role of caretaking for your sibling.
You are allowed to protect yourself from your siblings' harmful behavior.
You can break the cycle of dysfunction, codependency, and enabling by setting boundaries on how you engage in your relationship with your siblings.
