Foster Care and Mental Health Services Across Virginia

Impact Living Services (ILS) is a non-profit agency dedicated to changing outcomes for at risk youth and families throughout Virginia. ILS is a licensed child placing agency providing treatment foster care services and transitional living services focused on assisting youth in foster care by promoting interdependence so that each youth may reach their individual potential socially, academically, vocationally and relationally. In addition to providing an independent living and foster care services, ILS provides outpatient counseling, therapeutic mentoring, and other community-based services to all eligible clients in the Central Virginia area.

Peak call times can make it feel like you have to be available at all times, but constant availability comes at a cost. Setting boundaries for your mental health isn’t about doing less, it’s about staying well enough to keep doing this work. Take your breaks when you can, protect your time off, and listen to your limits. Your well-being matters just as much as the call you’re answering.
