✨ Team Spotlight: Nicole! ✨

We’re excited to warmly welcome Nicole, who joined our team as Office Coordinator in October! If you’ve called our office recently, chances are you’ve already heard her friendly voice on the other end of the line.

Nicole helps keep things running smoothly by answering the phones, following up with potential new clients and caregiver applicants, and assisting our Care Coordinators with calls. She’s originally from the Fort Atkinson area and now lives there with her family and one cat.
When she’s not in the office, Nicole enjoys cooking and listening to music. In fact, if you are in the office you might catch her Alexa softly playing in the background while she works.

Nicole shared that she feels welcomed and comfortable at Visiting Angels. That that warmth truly shines through in every conversation she has. She has a special way of making caregivers and clients feel valued, and we’re so glad she’s part of our team 💙

When you come for the care… but stay for the cuddles! 🐶 Wanda is a Fort Atkinson area caregiver who knows that companionship is just as important as the tasks. Even four-legged family members of our clients appreciate the love from Visiting Angels caregivers.

Our office just received a big delivery of gloves, and we want to see who has the best eye 👀
Take a look at the photo and comment your guess on how many boxes of gloves are in our supply! Closest guess wins bragging rights 😉 We’ll let you know in the comments if you win. Merry Christmas from all of us at Visiting Angels! 🎄

Christmas is a reminder that care begins at home. We have seen the holiday spirit lived out by our caregivers, clients, and their families this season. It has been made of small moments - caregivers baking cookies, decorating homes, and sharing holiday cards. Thank you for having us be a part of your holiday!

It's National Cookie Day! Sweeten your day and forget the standard cookie recipe. Try our very own Care Coordinator, Ashley’s, family recipe for delicious chocolate chip cookies. They're made with love and seriously delicious!

Serving size: 26 cookies
Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup light brown sugar, tightly packed
2 large eggs, room temperature
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
3 cups all purpose flower
1 teaspoon baking soda, sifted
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups milk chocolate chips

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In the bowl of a stand mixer with a paddle attachment, combine 2 sticks of butter, 1 cup of packed brown sugar, and 1/2 cup of white sugar. Beat for five minutes on medium or high speed until creamy and light, scraping the bowl as needed.
2. Add 2 large eggs, one at a time, beating well with each addition, scraping bowl as needed, then beat in two tablespoon of vanilla.
3. In a separate bowl, combine 3 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon baking soda (sifted to eliminate lumps). Add the flour mixture to the creamed butter in thirds, mixing to incorporate each addition. Fold in 2 cups of chocolate chips.
4. Use an ice cream scoop to get even balls of dough that are 3 teaspoon each. Roll dough balls lightly with your hands. Place scoops of dough onto a lined baking sheet about 2 inches apart. With these instructions, 26 cookies should fit into 3 baking sheets. Optional step is to top cookies balls with chocolate chips. Bake after placed on sheet or freeze balls of dough until ready to bake.
5. Bake one cookie sheet at a time for 12-15 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until edges are just turning golden. The top of the cookie should still look underbaked slightly. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
