What's a common response you give to someone who just lost a loved one?

It's hard to answer the well-meaning "How are you?" after losing a loved one. Saying "I'm fine" is sometimes easier than sharing your feelings, but opening up to those who care about you is necessary to your grief journey. Grief has no timeline, and you are not a burden. The people in your life want to support you.

As we gather at the table, may we carry their love with us. Who are you especially thankful for today?
