Fort Collins Natives Come Full Circle

Trevin and Allison both grew up in Fort Collins (Poudre and Rocky Mountain graduates). They always knew they wanted to return to the Choice City. From eating at Jim’s Wings and Big City burrito to concerts in Old Town square to hikes up Arthur’s rock, they knew they couldn’t wait to get back “home” to raise their family. After graduating with bachelors’ degrees from Brigham Young University (Spanish Translation and Accounting), Trevin and Allison moved to Glendale, Arizona. Trevin began medical school at Midwestern University. Growing up Trevin always knew he wanted to be doctor and during those first couple years of medical school he narrowed down his specialty. He wanted to be a family medicine physician because he wanted to be able to have long lasting relationships with his patients. He wanted to know what happened to the people he was caring for after the were stable and left the ER, after they were discharged from a hospital stay, and after they gave birth. It was during his 3rd year of medical school rotations that he realized he wanted to practice medicine differently. The family medicine he had seen and observed left little time for patient relationships or any quality care needed outside of a 15 minute appointment slot. It was during this time that Trevin and Allison began to dream of returning to Fort Collins to open a direct primary care practice. Their dreams came a step closer to reality as Trevin graduated from medical school and matched to his top residency choice, Poudre Valley Hospital. As they began to make business plans it was decided to called their clinic Hometown Family Health. This name was chosen not only because it is the couple’s hometown, but also because the goal of the clinic is to revert back to a simpler time in medicine where doctors and patients had personal relationships and there were no third party payers dictating care. Now as Trevin starts his final year of residency they have launched their website to begin pre-enrolling patients. They are anxious to start serving the people of Northern Colorado with Trevin as the physician and Allison as the practice manager and also a certified personal trainer assisting Dr. Cardon in a lifestyle medicine aspect.
