đ When the days grow shorter and the light fades, many of us notice a shift in our mood. For some women, this isnât just the âfall bluesâ â it may be Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).
Hereâs what you should know:
- SAD is a form of depression that happens in a seasonal pattern â most often from late fall through winter, when daylight hours shrink.
- Women are more likely than men to experience it.
- Signs can include persistent low mood, loss of interest in usual activities, fatigue or oversleeping, carbohydrate cravings and social withdrawal.
If youâre noticing these changes as the seasons turn, you donât have to face it alone. For more information visit: https://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/publications/seasonal-affective-disorder
