Opportunities that the CSU HPSA: Rehabilitations Therapy Club Provides:
• Sponsor informational speakers by bringing in representatives from health professional programs in the US and abroad
• Provide an opportunity to meet other students with similar interests in the health professions
• Offer shadowing experiences in the field and provide leadership opportunities
• Are actively involved in campus and community service activities. What are Rehabilitation Therapies?
• Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Music Therapy are health and rehabilitation professions that help individuals regain, develop, and build skills that are important for independent functioning, health, well-being, security, and happiness.
• PT and OT practitioners work with people of all ages who, because of illness, injury, developmental or psychological impairment, need specialized assistance in learning skills to enable them to lead independent, productive, and satisfying lives. Health Professions Student Association (HPSA)
• The HPSA serves as a key to success in the health professions is getting involved in your community. At Colorado State University there are many organizations and groups geared to a wide variety of interests. Becoming involved outside the classroom will help you to meet new people, get better grades, stay in school, and be more competitive on graduate school applications.
• HPSA focuses on integrative health care to reflect the current direction of health care professions.

Hey Rams! This is a friendly reminder that our third meeting of the semester will be held on Wednesday, March 4th, at 5:30 PM in Stadium Classroom 1205. We’re excited to host a PT/OT panel where a licensed PT and OT will be sharing their experiences and insights. There will be lots of helpful information, so we recommend bringing something to take notes with. Be sure to come prepared with any questions you’d like to ask! We hope to see you all there!

Hello everyone, hope you all are having a good week so far! This is just a reminder that our second meeting of the semester will be tomorrow, Wednesday the 18th at 6:00 pm in Stadium Classroom 1205! We will have two students from CSU’s OT Doctoral program coming to talk to us about their mentor-mentee program and how undergraduate students can get involved if they are interested in a future in Occupational therapy. They will also be sharing some info about student organizations such as Diverse-OT and answering questions about OT school. This meeting will provide a very helpful and unique insight into OT school and the profession, we recommend bringing something to take notes with. Hope to see you all there!

Hope everyone enjoyed their break! This is a reminder that our last meeting of the semester will be TODAY, December 3rd and we will be going over PTCAS and OTCAS applications. We will be meeting today, November 18th, from 5:30-6:30 pm via Zoom. During this meeting we will hear from the University of St. Augustine regarding their PT and OT graduate programs! This is a rare opportunity to hear from a school that offers both an OT and PT program, so we highly encourage everyone to attend and bring some questions! Thank you to everyone who came with us to check out the My Heroes program at the Temple Grandin Equine Center! We got to see and try out some specialized therapeutic riding equipment, tour the facility, meet the horses, and learn about the benefits of equine assisted PT and OT. We also learned about their volunteer program, My Heroes!

Hi Rams! Friendly reminder that our next meeting is going to be this Wednesday, October 15th, at 5:30 pm. We will be meeting at the Temple Grandin Equine Center, where we will tour the My Heroes program facility, gain insight into their support for individuals through equine-assisted services, and learn about their volunteer program!

Thank you to everyone that made it to our meeting last week at Onward Physical Therapy! We learned a ton about two common treatment modalities, spinal manipulation and dry needling, and got some valuable tips about preparing for and entering the PT field! We even got to watch some great demonstrations from Dr. Ellison and Dr. Brian to see these treatments in action! 💪
