In an eco-conscious world, we recognize the importance of sustainability in our sign products and production methods. We embrace environmentally friendly signs - sustainable signs - as a key part of what we do. They are our contribution to protect the environment.

0ne of the best ways to impact the current sustainability effort is to use more "green" materials. For example, we promote glass instead of plastic; paint instead of vinyl; wood instead of synthetics. Usually, these efforts include fittings, attachments, and graphic elements. When possible, we strive to use recycled materials, because, lately, our clients have been requesting recycled materials for - or as part of - their sign purchases. Your sign - weathered, damaged, or simply old and needing TLC - could still have new life! We offer a variety of custom sign and wood refurbishing and repainting services.

Oftentimes, these projects involve outdoor signs or treasured items that have been damaged by UV exposure, weather, accidents or vandalism. More times than not, many can be repaired, refinished and repainted to look brand new.

Such is the case for the popular eating establishment, Avogadro's Number. After more than 40 years of use, Avogadro's needed to have their weathered vintage sign refurbished and repainted. Forty years is a long time, but their sign can and will be repaired, refurbished and repainted to look like a new sign.

Occasionally, we provide fabrication services for marketing and advertising firms, as well as other sign companies. Such is the case for the 2-sided, 30" x 9', Wonder Outpost sandblasted sign. We produced the large horizontal sign for Husky Signs located in Frederick, CO. Our services for Husky included ordering the high density urethane (HDU) substrate, sandblasting a faux wood texture into its surface, routing the letters to a depth of 1/4", and, then cutting an irregular, rough-hewn border around the entire sign. Usually, the projects are for more artistic, elegant or personalized signs. For example, the hand-carved sign (pictured) is a church sign that's in the process of becoming a treasured item for the St. Spyridon Orthodox Church. The 14" x 25", hand-carved, gold-leafed mahogany sign is elegant and simple in design. Once the wood stain and gold leaf are applied, the sign will glow with welcoming warmth. The finished PEAK Church custom, two-sided sign is now installed! Over the winter months it was stored at PEAK Church. During those months, members of the church constructed two, 8-inch wood piers. They painted the piers to coordinate with the sign's color scheme. Once finished, and after the ground had softened, they sank the piers and installed the sign in March of 2025.

The sign features hand-carved, hammered, silver-leafed letters and a custom-shaped, hand-painted religious graphic. Pictured below are several detail photos of the silver-leafed letters, as well as the religious graphic. Read more on our blog at, www.paxtonsigns.com/blog .
