In addition to our birth center, we also provide homebirth midwifery care, women's health services, prenatal care, and doula training for the Northern Colorado community.

✨Magnesium✨
An incredible supplement that helps with SO much of what can make pregnancy uncomfortable!

Magnesium Glycinate - Helps with anxiety and sleeping, as pregnancy can often cause insomnia and higher anxiety feelings!

Magnesium Citrate - All of the hormones that pregnancy can bring often can cause constipation! Magnesium Citrate helps aid with that!

Magnesium Lotion/Oils - Topically using magnesium can help with relaxations, muscle tightness and cramping! you can find magnesium lotion, oils, or Epsom salts!

Always consult your provider if you have any questions or if you want to make sure that you are using high-quality magnesium! 🙌🏼 Make sure to see what we have in stock at the center also! We always make sure to keep high quality, midwife approved supplements!

How fun to be able to educate and love on mamas while cooking her own little bun!

Friendly reminder: due dates are really just guess dates 🤍
Only about 5% of babies are born on their actual due date
Due dates are calculated from an average 28-day cycle (not everyone has one)
They’re based on estimates, not a baby’s personal timeline
Full-term = anywhere between 37–42 weeks
Babies come when they’re ready, not when the calendar says so

So if your due date comes and goes… you’re not “late” — you’re right on track!

“You don’t get a medal for giving birth unmedicated”

True. However, that’s not why we do it!
With a safe, low risk pregnancy, allowing your body the space for a physiological birth experience can be the best thing for you!

What is physiological birth?

The terms natural birth, unmedicated, birth, and physiological birth, are all terms that are loosely used in the same form. Why is it not necessarily true?

True physiological birth focuses on a zero intervention, spontaneous process. The undisturbed, natural process is ideal for any low risk pregnancy!
Our midwives and doulas are trained and very familiar with the physiological process and know that it’s key for any out of hospital birth!

What can a cervical exam tell you? We normally think of just dilation as to the purpose to a cervical check. It can tell us much more than that!

Dilation, Effacement, Station and Position. Key things that have to work together in order for your baby to be born. You can’t have a baby unless these components are all there!

Dilation is just a snapshot to what’s happening in that moment, but can be helpful in know what stage of labor you might be in.

Effacement is how thick your cervix is. It’s not uncommon to efface quicker than dilate. Your cervix has to thin and move out of the way.

Station is where your baby is according to your pelvis. This is important in know what position work to do in labor, especially if your baby is still high and you’ve been in labor for a long time!

Position shows us if your baby is in a good position to continue to descend and dilate your cervix properly! It also confirms that your baby is head down (trust us, there’s been some crazy babies that want to come feet first!)

Even with all of this information, cervical checks are ALWAYS optional!

Althea Hrdlichka, CPM

As a mother of four, I found my enjoyment and satisfaction during pregnancy was truly dependent on the support I received. I have had four completely different birthing experiences. Some were fulfilling while others fell short. This is why I chose to dedicate my life's work to assist women during pregnancy and childbirth by becoming a CPM (Certified Professional Midwife).

I also keep a current certification in neonatal resuscitation and CPR. While homebirth is a mostly natural form of childbirth, I work closely with doctors, chiropractors and other medical providers to bring every element of care necessary to service all of my clients needs throughout their pregnancy and childbirth. I’ve worked with women through both natural and medicated births, and assisted with many successful VBAC’s in the hospital and at home.

I am passionate about providing supportive, gentle and loving care to all my clients so that they may experience the birth they deserve. I look forward to providing care and knowledge to you and your partner as well as a safe and satisfying pregnancy and birthing experience. I cannot wait to meet you and assist you through your journey to a wonderful and satisfying pregnancy and birth.
