Meet Terri! She was tied for 11th place in 2025 platelet donations with 12 donations. She saved anywhere from 12-36 lives.

Why she donates:
"I used to donate blood. My father donated blood, and he would take us with him to show us how easy it was and so we would not be scared. He and my mom both felt that it was very important to contribute to our communities. This was one way for him to do that. I started donating platelets a few years ago because I learned that platelets have a short shelf life and there is a great need. This is something that I can do. Like my mom and dad, I feel that it's really important to contribute to my community and this is a great way to do that."

Many donors ask why we send urgent messages about needing blood, but appointments appear full. It’s a fair question—and it comes down to timing.

We begin recruiting a few days before the supply becomes critical because donated blood must be tested, processed and delivered before it can help patients. Starting early allows us to spread appointments out, avoid last-minute emergencies, and ensure a steady, safe supply for hospitals.

Planning ahead helps us meet patient needs while providing a better donor experience. Thanks for being part of that lifesaving process—we look forward to seeing you again soon!

We had an incredible 2-day blood drive in partnership with Colorado State University last week!

Thanks to the amazing students, faculty, and staff at CSU, we saw a record-breaking turnout and collected lifesaving donations that will directly support patients right here in our community. From first-time donors to seasoned regulars, the Ram spirit showed up in a big way!
