This week is National STI Testing Awareness Week — and at Colorado Health Network, sexual health care is something we take seriously year-round.

We encourage anyone who is sexually active to get tested for HIV and STIs every three months as part of routine health care. Our teams provide low-barrier, judgment-free testing across Colorado, and if you receive a positive result, we make sure you're immediately connected to care — so you never have to navigate that alone.

We also help people access PrEP, one of the most effective HIV prevention tools available, at little to no cost. In 2025, CHN helped 677 people get on PrEP.

April 10 is National Youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, and we want every young person in Colorado to know: getting tested is an act of self-care.

Here's why this day matters: In 2025, young people ages 13–24 accounted for 20.4% of new HIV diagnoses in Colorado — a 6.9% increase from 2024. Nationally, this age group makes up 19% of all new diagnoses.

HIV testing is confidential, often free, and available at Colorado Health Network locations across the state. Whether you've never been tested or it's been a while, today is a good day to make a plan.

Tax season isn't just about refunds — it could be your ticket to health insurance.

Colorado's Tax Time Special Enrollment Period is open right now, and it's one of the only ways to enroll in a health insurance plan through Connect for Health Colorado outside of Open Enrollment. The catch? It only exists while you're filing your Colorado state taxes. The deadline is April 15.

If you or someone you know is currently uninsured, don't let this window pass. Our Health Access team is here to help — reach out to your Case Manager or HAPC coordinator to get started.

Today is the National Day of Action on Syringe Exchange — and we're proud to stand with harm reduction advocates everywhere. 💙

Syringe exchange programs provide clean needles, safe disposal, overdose prevention supplies, and connections to healthcare — all without stigma. They protect communities, reduce disease transmission, and open the door to care for people who need it most.

CHN's Access Point program offers these life-saving services at locations across Colorado, including Denver, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Fort Collins, Grand Junction, and Greeley.

Today is National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day - a day to acknowledge the disproportionate impact of HIV on American Indian and Alaska Native communities, and to recommit to change.

The numbers are stark: in 2022, the rate of new HIV diagnoses among AI/AN people was more than twice the rate among white people. Between 2018 and 2022, new diagnoses in this community increased by 30% - making AI/AN people one of only three racial/ethnic groups to see an increase during that period. And in 2022, just 77.3% of AI/AN people living with HIV knew their status - the lowest of any racial/ethnic group.

Knowing your status is the first step. Colorado Health Network offers free HIV testing at most of our offices.
🔹 If you're sexually active or share equipment used to inject drugs, test at least once a year.
🔹 If you have multiple sexual partners, test every 3–6 months.

Hoy es el Día Nacional de Concientización sobre el VIH/SIDA en Comunidades Nativas Americanas - un día para reconocer el impacto desproporcionado del VIH en las comunidades indígenas americanas y nativas de Alaska, y para renovar nuestro compromiso con el cambio.

Las cifras son contundentes: en 2022, la tasa de nuevos diagnósticos de VIH entre personas AI/AN fue más del doble que la de personas blancas. Entre 2018 y 2022, los nuevos diagnósticos en esta comunidad aumentaron un 30%, lo que convierte a las personas AI/AN en uno de solo tres grupos raciales/étnicos que registraron un aumento durante ese período.
