Behind every step forward is a community that cares. 🌟

Since we relaunched our Volunteer Program in November, we’ve been fortunate to recruit some truly talented and supportive volunteers! We want to thank these wonderful folks who have generously donated their time, expertise, and passion in support of The Arc of Larimer County’s mission and vision.

Their contributions strengthen our advocacy and help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families thrive. 💙

🌟 Community Feedback Friday 🌟
This Friday, we’re highlighting a powerful collaboration with the International Dyslexia Association – Rocky Mountain Branch on our recent Dyslexia Simulation.

Their kind words say it best:
“Together, we created a meaningful experience that deepened understanding, built empathy, and strengthened our community’s capacity to better serve students with dyslexia. We’re grateful for this collaboration and look forward to future opportunities to partner again.”

We couldn’t agree more. Thank you, IDA-RMB, for helping us bring awareness, education, and empathy-building experiences to our community. 💙

📰🏛️ Thank you to KUNC for elevating the policy impacts of Colorado’s recently implemented and upcoming Medicaid changes to at‑home caregiving.

These reductions—including new limits on community outings and cuts to paid hours for legally responsible caregivers—are already affecting services, with additional caps scheduled to roll out this spring.

As funding decisions advance, it’s critical to understand how caregiver hour limits and service caps translate into real‑world access for people with disabilities and their families across Colorado.

Thank you to our advocate, Nicole Rosendale, for providing this interview—bringing both her professional expertise and lived experience as a paid caregiver affected by these cuts. 🧩

🌟 Client Testimonial Tuesday 🌟

We are continually honored to be part of so many meaningful journeys in our community. 💜

This Tuesday’s heartfelt message reminds us why we do what we do:
“Thank you, THANK YOU to The Arc of Larimer County! Your organization is amazing and I’m glad you have been part of our family’s neurodivergent journey!”

Supporting individuals and families as they navigate services and support is at the core of our mission — and hearing feedback like this fuels our commitment every day. 💫

🌟 The Arc of Larimer County joined advocates from across Colorado for IDD Awareness Day at the State Capitol this week!

This annual event brings together self‑advocates, families, organizations, and lawmakers to uplift the value of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and advance policies that support inclusion and meaningful choice across Colorado.

From morning events to tributes in the House and Senate, the day offered powerful opportunities for connection, visibility, and advocacy for the IDD community. We are honored to be part of such a meaningful day, advocating for policies that strengthen dignity, access, and equity for people with IDD!
