🌟 Friday Simulation Spotlight! 🌟

What an incredible week in the Simulation Center!

We were busy supporting learning across multiple programs and welcoming visitors from near and far!

🩺 Monday: We kicked things off with Theory 2 & Theory 4 nursing students from Webster City.
• Theory 2 worked through three patient care scenarios
• Theory 4 focused on OB skills, including delivery and postpartum care

🧠 Tuesday & Wednesday: Two groups of Theory 3 nursing students from Fort Dodge joined us for mental health patient simulations, practicing communication, assessment, and clinical decision-making.

🏫 We also loved hosting a group tour from Metro State TRIO Upward Bound in Saint Paul and welcomed two groups of local professionals from Leadership Fort Dodge-Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance!

Thank you to all the students, instructors, and guests who spent time learning with us this week. We’re proud to support hands-on education and future healthcare professionals every day!

Happy Friday from your Sim Team! 💙

✨ Tuesday Recap | A Busy Week at the Simulation Center! ✨

Last week our Simulation Center was buzzing with learning, hands-on experiences, and some amazing visitors. We loved every minute of it!

🫁 Monday night, our Medic 2 students were here diving into respiratory emergencies, sharpening critical skills through realistic simulation scenarios.

🧠 Tuesday and Wednesday, we welcomed Nursing students from the Fort Dodge campus who focused on mental health and psychiatric simulation scenarios, building confidence and clinical judgment in a controlled learning environment.

🎓 Wednesday also brought in two groups from the Junior Leadership Program for tours of our center. It was great showing them how simulation supports healthcare education and career pathways.

🚑 Friday, we had a fantastic visit from Southwest Valley – Intro to Health students! During their tour, students:

Learned about the Nursing program with Kaylee, Shyanne and Cassandra

Met our AI manikin Hank

Explored EMS classes through Iowa Central with coordinator Peter

Practiced intubation on a manikin “patient”

Participated in a hands-on Stop the Bleed activity

So many programs, so many students, and so much learning packed into one week! We’re incredibly grateful to all the students, instructors, and partners who spent time with us.

Here’s to another great week of learning through simulation! 💙🩺

🎉 Facebook Friday – Double Feature Edition! 🎉

We’re making up for two busy weeks here at the Simulation Center — and what a way to start our 10th year serving students and the community! 🥳

💪🏽Week 1: Our students were hard at work during IV Skills Days, practicing starting lines, improving technique, and building confidence with hands-on, real-world skills.

🍼Week 2: Things got exciting in OB Simulation with deliveries and obstetric complications! From routine births to high-stress scenarios, students worked through critical thinking, teamwork, and patient care in fast-paced, realistic situations.

And on top of all that… this month marks the beginning of our 10th year as a Simulation Center open to both students and the public! We’re so proud of how far we’ve come and so grateful for the faculty, staff, students, and visitors who make this place what it is every day. 💙

Here’s to a decade of learning, growing, saving lives and to many more years of simulation ahead! 🎂🎈
