We’re so appreciative of our community partners and their commitment to health and safety!

You might notice some changes in the Beverage Garden this summer, courtesy of Community & Family Resources (CFR), an organization focused on supporting individuals with behavioral health using evidence-based programming provided by trained professionals in a supportive environment.

CFR is working with local event organizers to create safer environments to deter alcohol abuse, doing so through policy change and effective deterrence through the grant, Partnerships for Success: Prevent Alcohol Misuse, awarded by the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services.

At the Iowa Arts Festival, Iowa City Jazz Festival, and Rhythms at Riverfront Crossings, you will notice new signage at the Beverage Garden entrance and exit, as well as an ID scanner.

Summer of the Arts staff and volunteer supervisors will also participate in TIPS training in late April, to ensure responsible beverage service. These initiatives, in addition to Raise the Bar training offered in 2024 and 2025 will make our always fun and easy-going environment an even safer one!
