This Saturday in Ames!

We're making the 2026 edition of our annual Out of the Darkness Walk the BIGGEST yet!

Like always, we still have a guest speaker, resource booths, and a campus walk - but this year we added:
- Bell Bottom Coffee Truck
- Piece and Freedom Bakery
- Face Painting
- Fun with ISU Line Dancing Club
- Acoustic guitarist Jake Doty

After the walk, all participants can choose to enjoy a FREE scoop of an exclusive flavor from ISU Creamery: "Griffin's Ripples of Hope" - Lavender ice cream with raspberry swirl and pound cake pieces.

This year's walk is Saturday, April 25. Participants can enjoy the wellness connection event starting at 8 am., with a short program from our guest speaker at 10 am to kick off the walk.

Come to the Library for the Accessing Resources Fair Saturday, April 25, from 10am to noon.

Local service providers from a variety of community organizations will share valuable resources for individuals and families.

Tours and refreshments will be provided, along with a short program and ribbon cutting with Greater Iowa City, Inc. at 4:00 PM.

Prescription Drug Take Back Day is coming up soon on April 25th! By safely disposing of expired or unneeded medications, you can play an active role in preventing misuse or accidental poisoning. Our Prevention team will be at the Ames Police Department that day from 1-3 PM with a variety of resources and at-home disposal kits.

Our Des Moines Outpatient campus may be under construction, but we're still open!

We appreciate everyone's patience as we construct a new building for our residential and outpatient programs at 3451 Easton Blvd in Des Moines.

Please continue to come in for any appointments or group sessions that you have scheduled at our outpatient office (3451 Easton Blvd).

Our same-day access substance use evals will continue to be held at our residential building at 3806 Easton Blvd (just down the road!).
