Patients often ask Jessie (our dual certified optician):

"How does a no-line bifocal work?"

So we created this graphic to help explain how the no-line bifocal "channels" in eyeglasses work. (Bifocals work completely differently in contacts!)

Not all lens channels are created equal! Some are narrow and some are wide, creating larger and smaller areas of peripheral distortion.

Another name for a no-line bifocal is a progressive add lens, or PAL for short.

Jessie can answer any questions you may have about the latest lens styles and technologies available for your next pair of eyewear! It's her thing :)
