Robert "Bob" Koester, 81, of Moorland passed away peacefully with family by his side at Southfield wellness Community, Webster City on Sunday, February 8, 2026.

Bob was born November 26, 1944, in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Alvin and Florence (Butler) Koester. Bob attended and graduated from Story City Community High School in 1963. He married Deb Meyers on June 5, 1965. They eventually settled in Roelyn and welcomed two children, Laurie and Jim. The family lived on an acreage for a period of time and raised cattle, pigs, and other animals.

Bob worked various jobs before he began working for the Farmers Elevator Company of Roelyn in April of 1970. He became the assistant manager of the elevator in 1977. In 1978, Farmers Elevator merged with New Cooperative and Bob became the site manager of the Roelyn New Cooperative. He later became the regional manager and head of operation for New Coop during his 41-year career. Bob was the first to work, the last to leave and he had an unmatched dedication to those he managed. Bob was an avid card player, enjoying the games of Pitch, Poker, and Boorah.

Bob is survived by his daughter Laurie (Randy) Kalahar of Gowrie, son Jim (Julie) Koester of Manson, two grandchildren Kyle and Trevor, four great-grandchildren Karter, Brielle, Kaleb, and Brooklyn, sister Diane (Steve) Wingerson of Mesa, AZ, nephew Andy (Tiffany) Wingerson, and great-nephew Weston. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Moorland. Following the mass, a celebration of life will be at the Moorland Community Center. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. The family would ask everyone in attendance to dress casual in their favorite blue jeans, as Bob did. In lieu of plants, memorials may be left to the family's discretion.

"It is more a blessing to give than to receive," Acts 20:35

John William English was called home by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Trinity Regional Medical Center. John lived his life faithfully, quietly, and generously, giving of himself through his time, talents, and treasures to all, especially those in need.

He was born August 11, 1946, in Fort Dodge, was raised in Clare, and graduated from St. Edmond's High School. Soon after, John enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he spent the next twenty years of his life. He met and married his beloved wife, Linda L. (Nee Ott) English. The two were joined in Holy Matrimony at Sacred Heart Church on July 16, 1967, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Together, they raised three daughters, teaching and passing on to them the importance of family, faith, and service to all. After serving our country, he retired from the military, returning home, where he was employed by Fletcher Cabinets, retiring in 2005. John was a member of Holy Trinity Church. He fully believed in the "Four F's": faith, family, friends, and fishing.

John is survived by his long-time companion, Linda Rowe of Fort Dodge; daughters Nancy (Douglas) Whelan of Red Bud, IL, Katherine (Ron) Kueker of Ellis Grove, IL, and Stephanie (Vernon "Sonny") Kisro of Evansville, IL; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and siblings Phillip (Elaine) English of Omaha, NE, Judy Miller of Solon, IA, Martha ("Pat") Hughes of Olathe, KS, Mary (Robert "Bob") Cass, and Kathleen (John) Kauble, both of Coralville, IA, sister-in-law Shelly English of Omaha, NE, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He will be sorely missed by his "fur baby," Bentley Charles.

Preceding John in death were his parents, Robert and Mary "Colleen" (Nee Bemrich) English; wife, Linda (Nee Ott) English, in 1993; siblings, Robert, Richard, Tim, and Beth English; Sara Marsh; nephew, Jeffery Marsh; and brother-in-law, Richard Miller.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Holy Trinity Church 2501 6th Ave North, Fort Dodge with Msgr. Kevin McCoy and Father Bill Schreiber. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
