Hi friends, my name is Sarah Pope. It’s been a while since I’ve done an introduction and some things have changed…

I left Long Island and moved upstate last year. I now live between Saratoga Springs and Lake George in a small town called Fort Edward.

I’m a birth and postpartum doula; available to support families in autonomous birth at home. I also support families in brith center or hospital births.

When I was 6 I witnessed my mother give birth at home naturally to my baby brother (all 9+ pounds of him). It will always be one of the greatest experiences of this life for me. It imprinted upon me a deep knowing that one day I could do that too, and so can you.

I believe in our body’s and baby’s innate wisdom in birth. I believe in the normal, natural physiology of birth. When I was 33 I gave birth to my first daughter, River, at home and then 3 years later, her sister, Sierra.

There is nothing I am more passionate about protecting and advocating for, than a woman’s innate wisdom and power in birth.

Beyond birth doula services, I also offer postpartum support, sibling support, prepared meals, and placenta services. I am also a certified yoga and meditation teacher so working with me includes mental and physical practices and guidance to prepare you for birth.

2023-2024 Pricing:

Birth Doula Package: $1,100
Postpartum Support: $25/hr
Placenta Pills: $300
Placenta Print: $25
Placenta Frozen Cubes: $100

All services are subject to additional travel fees when necessary, and this will be outlined in your contract prior to working together.

Pricing is negotiable, payment plans are available and trades are encouraged. I am very willing to work out a price that is reasonable and affordable for your family so that you can have the support you need for your birth. Please reach out to me. ✌🏼🩷

Teach em’ young. River, my placenta encapsulation assistant.

Preparing my friend’s placenta was so healing for me. I never got to actually see my placenta from River and that was a loss for me. I didn’t feel like it was honored and processed in ceremony which just left me with a sort of longing feeling. Like some part of it was wasted rather than transformed into medicine or an offering to Gaia.

It’s not just “processing” a placenta. It is creating medicine with spirit and earth. Transforming this incredible organ that literally grew a life and connected mother and child into a palatable form for a mother’s healing and postpartum journey of becoming a mother and letting her maiden self die.

It is such important work. I truly wish every mother could awaken to the power of this medicine.

Most people charge $250 or more to prepare the placenta and so many Moms just don’t know it’s value so they don’t do it because it’s another “expense.”

I did this for free because she’s my best friend. Having done it now I completely understand why people charge what they do. It’s quite a bit of work and you really have to have dedicated tools/dehydrator for it.

That said, more women need to have access to this. It’s easiest and most nutrient dense/bio-available to eat it raw but most people are too grossed out to do that. I had mine in smoothies, it was cut into frozen chunks and I had one in each smoothie every morning. You could not taste it at all! But I get that that is not for everyone!

I want to offer this service with a suggested fee AND a pay what you can afford option.

It’s too important! And women are not getting the benefits because they don’t understand the value in it/legitimately cannot afford it.

So if you want help with your placenta please message me and we can work something out that you can afford! Maybe you have something I need and we can trade. It can never hurt to ask.
